At St Paul’s “Every Child Matters.” “We are committed to providing an environment where all members of our school community are happy, enjoy school, achieve, are safe, make healthy choices and make a positive contribution to school life.“

We provide access to a range of opportunities after school intended to enhance our children’s well being and to reinforce improvements in their attainment.

Our school does not see itself as a stand-alone educational institution but as a dynamic hub catering for the needs of our community.

Our school successfully provides a range of extended services identified by the Government to support families;• We have a range of extra activities for

children before and after school in a safe environment

• We have high quality child care before and after school

• We provide or signpost family support services

• We welcome community access to our facilities e.g. Brownies.

• We can support swift and easy access to specialist services

Extra- Curricular activities reflect the commitment of our dedicated staff and also include the support of outside providers or professional coaches. We aim to provide activities that offer something fresh, innovative and relevant to our children and in many cases giving them something they have never done.

We provide a number of different clubs and activities either at school or within the local area throughout the year. Clubs cater for all age groups, are at different times of the day and vary from term to term. Some clubs have a fee attached to pay the provider and some are free of charge.

In most cases activities take place during the school day, before or after school and on our site. Activities undertaken off site, such as sports events, are supported by a member of staff as well as parents who have up to date CRB checks.

Through local sports partnerships, we are able to provide an extensive range of sporting and creative opportunities for our children. These opportunities occur throughout the year and are supported by staff and parents at other local schools and colleges as well as Loughborough University.

Activities this year have included Football, Netball, Badminton, Cross Country, Indoor Athletics, Kwik Cricket, Rounders, Tennis and Squash.

Extended services providers are either members of our own staff team or practising professionals within their own fields, with up to date CRB checks and a good history of working in educational settings.

Collecting and Picking Up ChildrenWe have key adults who collect our children from class and take them safely to their club to be registered. Parents or Carers are asked to enter and leave school via the Park and Stride gates or Rawlins Close gates and make their way to reception to collect their children from the club provider. Gates will be opened by the premises officer just before each club finishes.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE MEADOW ROAD ENTRANCE TO COLLECT PUPILS FROM AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN A LOST PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD

Gigantic Bowl of Cereal and Planet Play ExperienceOur amazing before and after school clubs are just that, amazing. We had a competition and named them ourselves! Breakfast Club is called Gigantic Bowl of Cereal and After School Club is called Planet Play. How cool is that?

Our leaders make sure that we have loads of well organised fun in a safe environment. There are always plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained and a real mix of activities from sport to art! If you are tired or just need a bit of space, you can do that too and just sit and chill, read a book, watch a film or even get your homework done!

If you are still full of energy the clubs can keep you happy, active and entertained at all times whilst spending time with your friends. One extra bonus is that you get to make new friends from across the whole school and not just from your class.

The clubs show children the fun of joining in and making friends confidently without Mum or Dad or whoever looks after us being around.

You also get a really scrummy breakfast to start your day or a yummy tea to keep you going at the end of the day. The School Club ExperienceAll of our fantastic school clubs are supervised by professionals who ensure that we all have tons of fun.

Many clubs are for different age groups because what is fun for a 5 year old can be boring for a 7 year old and what’s cool for a 7 year old may not be so cool for an 11 year old!

Our clubs work brilliantly because they bring together children of similar ages and likes, enabling us to get stuck into something we really enjoy whilst learning loads too.

The school listens to us and are always trying to develop our clubs to meet our needs!

Sports clubs are for us sport mad boys and girls who want to learn new skills, have fun with a bat or a ball and make new friends whilst getting fitter. ............. “Go on …..Give it a Go!”

B.A.S.E Many of our children go through a variety of different experiences that sometimes mean that they need a bit of extra support or TLC. Lunchtime is occasionally difficult for some children, if they have a lot on their plate or need a bit of support, so we have created B.A.S.E.

B.A.S.E. is our lunch time club which supports pupils in positive play and provides a warm and nurturing environment. The club has a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities and is lots of fun! A child may be invited to join B.A.S.E. for a period of time if they have been referred by the Head Teacher, teacher or their parent or indeed, have asked to come themselves if something is worrying them.
