The Editor

Just in case you wanted to know who makes all the typos in the news-

letter, it's that guy down there in the lower right.

I, Tim Vincent, came to Myrtle Beach in 1999 a broken, broken man. I

started attending Beach Church in 2003 and a few months later Cele-

brate Recovery where I addressed my issues of Alcoholism, anger and

resentment. I quit drinking in the secular environment

and spent 24 years still not knowing why my life was

empty. Thanks to CR and Beach Church and Jesus,

I am now filled.

I lived in Allentown Pennsylvania for 49 years but I call

Conway, SC my home.

New Vision to convey the idea

format but in concept as well. It is easy to see the format change but I think you can see the concept change equally as

easily. I enjoyed sending out the ENews, but it occurred to me that it did not really convey the idea of what we are all

about as well as I originally hoped. The old format kept you informed of what was going on at Beach Church and it did it

very well. Celebrate Recovery is not about one, one person, one church. I wear a T-shirt and on the back it reads, “You

are not alone”. That goes beyond any one person and to me says that not even our recovery groups are alone, and so I

started working on this new format that will tie all the groups on the strand together, so that we not only can support one

another by attending other events and Celebrations but now we can feel in our hearts that none of us is alone and we are

in this thing … Together.

Nearly 2 years ago Shawn Norton shared a vision. His vision was to have CR 7 days a week. Well we all worked together

and we are real close. We now have CR 5 days a week, but we have exceeded his vision because not only are we close to

the 7 day mark … We are also a connected group of people who are captivated by Christ and whose changed lives are

changing lives and none of the Strand Recovery Groups is alone. WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER because every one cares

about the other.

CORNERSTONE

Cornerstone is a newly forming Celebrate Recovery Group. At this time they are running only 12 step groups to build

their leadership team.

Their GRAND OPENING is scheduled for September 8, 2009.

OPEN DOOR BAPTIST Open Door Baptist Church is in a re-organizing mode. As soon as they have a celebration service scheduled, I will start to

post them. Re-organizing is a challenge to say the least. Let’s all remember to pray that God leads them.

PAWLEYS ISLAND

I was not able to make contact with Pawleys Island but I am sure they will be as enthusiastic about the new format for the

ENews as the other 4 recovery groups have been. I did not want to delay the ENews any longer and I hope to get them on

board soon. We support Pawleys Island and want to see them grow along with the rest of us.
