March, 1902 - Seattle voters approve bonds to build a hydroelectric power plant on the city’s newly established Cedar River watershed. January, 1905 – Cedar Falls plant comes online and first streetlights are illuminated. April, 1910 - Charter amended to create Light and Power department. September, 1924 – Gorge Dam in service. First dam in the Skagit project October, 1936 – Diablo Dam in service. December, 1952 – Ross Dam in service. Final dam in the Skagit project.
