Haiti become an enormous exporter of hi-quality greenhouse vegetables, fruits and grains to North, South, Central America, the Caribbean & Europe. The number of families and people that will benefit from having a well paid job is exponential.

Raising the standard of living by paying workers good salaries, will make a revolving economy; opening new market opportunities

Society will have money to buy products, creating economical growth.

The objectives

Global:◦ Satisfaction of the Haitian population needs for food,

effectively and on the long term by the economic and social development of the country throughout the modernization the agriculture value chain

Specific:◦ Improve the offer of agriculture produce with 1M of

m2 greenhouses ;

◦ Develop a new class of entrepreneurs by training and financing 1,000 production units;

◦ Mobilize 10 M USD annually from the export market

Support modernization of Haiti agriculturevia innovation (greenhouses, more efficientirrigation systems, good practices…)

Develop extension services for diffusion ofmore efficient production models for basiccrops

Improve domestic production capacitiesand availability for good quality seeds

And Reinforce the capacities of the ministryto provide basic services for producers

The potential markets During the winter

months (October to April) the United States and Canada are not suitable for growing fruits and vegetables, therefore a window of opportunity is open for the supply of greenhouse produce. Haiti has a good labor force combined with good weather to be part of these limited suppliers.
