Eachcourseofstudyofferedbytheschoolisconsideredtobeasinglecourse;therefore,studentswithanoutstandingbalanceontheirtuitionaccountwillnotbeabletoreceivetheirtranscriptsuntiltheaccountispaidinfull.

FinancialAidStudentswhodonotachievetheminimumstandardforSatisfactoryAcademicProgressarenolongereligibleforTitleIV,HEAprogramfunds,ifapplicable,unlessthestudentisonwarningorhasprevaileduponappealofthedeterminationthathasresultedinthestatusofprobation.

AppealProcedureIfastudentisdeterminedtonotbemakingSatisfactoryAcademicProgress,thestudentmayappealthedetermination.Reasons for which studentsmay appeal a negative progress determination include death of a relative, an injury orillnessof the student,oranyotherallowable specialormitigating circumstance. The studentmust submitawrittenappeal to the school on the designated form describing why they failed to meet Satisfactory Academic Progressstandards, along with supporting documentation of the reasons why the determination should be reversed. TransferHoursWith regard toSatisfactoryAcademicProgress, a student’s transferhours fromanother institution thatareacceptedtoward the student’s educational program are counted as both attempted and completed hours for the purpose ofdeterminingwhentheallowablemaximumtime-framehasbeenexhausted.SAPevaluationperiodsarebasedonactualcontractedhoursattheinstitution.

Anymoniesdueastudentwhounofficiallywithdrawsfromtheinstitutionshallberefundedwithin45daysofadeterminationbytheinstitutionthatthestudenthaswithdrawnwithoutnotifyingtheinstitution.Unofficialwithdrawalsaremonitoredevery45daysandadeterminationismadetowithdrawastudentwhohasbeenabsentfromschoolforfourteen(14)ormoreconsecutivecalendardays;thewithdrawaldatethatwillbeusedinthiscalculationisthestudent’sactuallastdateofattendance.
4. Studentswhowithdrawfromtheprogramarerequiredtoemptytheirlocker/trolleyandgatherallpersonalitems.Anyitemsleftbehindbythestudentwillbestoredfor30days,atwhichtimetheitemsbecomethepropertyoftheschool.
5. Allextracosts,suchasstudentkit,equipment,ebooks,supplies,applicationfee,andothersuchcharges,arenotconsideredinthetuitionadjustmentcomputationifthechargesareitemizedseparatelyintheenrollmentcontract.
6. Moniespaidforstudentkit,equipment,ebooks,andsuppliesarerefundablethroughattendanceofthefirstdayofclass,ortheseventh(7)calendardayafterenrollment,whicheverislater.
7. Ifacourseand/orprogramiscancelledsubsequenttoastudent’senrollment,andbeforeinstructioninthecourseand/orprogramhasbegun,theschoolshalleitherprovidearefundofallmoniespaidorprovidecompletionofthecourseand/orprogram.
8. Astudent’saccountwillbesenttoacollectionagencyfornon-payment.9. Iftheschoolclosespriortocompletionoftheeducationalprogram,itisindefaultoftheenrollmentagreement
whenaneducationalprogramisdiscontinuedorcanceled.StudentinstitutionalchargesmayberefundedonaproratabasisiftheBureaudeterminesthattheschoolhasmadeprovisionforstudentsenrolledatthetimeofdefaulttocompleteacomparableeducationalprogramatanotherinstitutionatnoadditionalchargetothestudentsbeyondtheamountofthetotalchargesintheoriginalenrollmentagreement.(alsoknownas“TeachOuts”.)Iftheschooldoesnotmakethatprovision,atotalrefundofallinstitutionalchargesshallbemadetostudents.
10. Astudentwhofailstoreturnfromaleaveofabsence,thedateofwithdrawaldeterminationshallbethestudent’slastdayofattendance.
11. Astudentisentitledtoarefundofmoneysnotpaidfromfederalstudentaidprogramfunds.

TitleIVWithdrawalPolicy
“Official”VoluntaryWithdrawalAstudentisconsideredtobe“officially”withdrawnonthedatethestudentnotifiestheFinancialAidDirectororAcademyDirectorinwritingoftheirintenttowithdraw.Thedateofthedeterminationforreturnandrefundpurposeswillbetheearliestofthefollowingforofficialwithdrawals:Thedatestudentprovidedofficialnotificationofintenttowithdraw,inwritingorthedatethestudentbeganthewithdrawalfromtheschool’srecords.Astudentwillbepermittedtorescindhis/hernotificationinwritingandcontinuetheprogram,ifsochosen.However,ifthestudentsubsequentlydrops,thestudent’swithdrawaldateistheoriginaldateofnotificationofintenttowithdraw.Uponreceiptofthewithdrawalinformationtheschoolwillcompletethefollowing:

1.Determinethestudent’slastdateofattendanceasofthelastrecordeddateofacademicattendanceontheschool’sattendancerecord,and2.Performtwocalculationsa.Thestudent’sledgercardandattendancerecordarereviewedtodeterminethecalculationofReturnofTitleIV,HEAfundsthestudenthasearned,andifany,theamountofTitleIV,HEAfundsforwhichtheschoolisresponsible.ReturnsmadetothefederalfundsaccountarecalculatedusingtheU.S.DepartmentofEducation’sReturnofTitleIV,HEAfundsworksheets,scheduledattendanceandarebaseduponthepaymentperiod.b.Calculatetheschool’srefundrequirement(seeInstitutionalRefund/WithdrawalPolicycalculation).3.Thestudent’sgraderecordwillbeupdatedtoreflecthis/herfinalgrade.4.TheschoolwillreturntheamountforanyunearnedportionoftheTitleIV,HEAfundsforwhichtheschoolisresponsiblewithin45daysofthedatetheofficialnoticewasprovided.5.Ifapplicable,theschoolwillprovidethestudentwithaletterexplainingtheTitleIV,HEArequirements.Toinclude,a.TheamountofTitleIV,HEAassistancethestudenthasearned.Thisamountisbaseduponthelengthoftimethestudentwasenrolledintheprogrambasedonscheduledattendanceandtheamountoffundsthestudentreceivedb.Anyreturnsthatwillbemadetothefederalprogramonthestudent’sbehalfasaresultofexitingtheprogram.Ifastudent’sscheduledattendanceismorethan60%ofthepaymentperiod,he/sheisconsideredtohaveearned100%ofthefederalfundsreceivedforthepaymentperiod.Inthiscase,nofundsneedtobereturnedtothefederalfunds.c.Advisethestudentoftheamountofunearnedfederalfundsandtuitionandfeesthatthestudentmustreturn,ifapplicable.6.Supplythestudentwithaledgercardrecordnotingoutstandingbalanceduetotheschoolandtheavailablemethodsofpayment.Acopyofthecompletedworksheet,check,letterandfinalledgercardwillbekeptinthestudent’sfile.Intheeventastudentdecidestorescindhisorherofficialnotificationtowithdraw,thestudentmustprovideasignedanddatedwrittenstatementindicatinghe/sheiscontinuinghisorherprogramofstudy,andintendstocompletethepaymentperiod.TitleIV,HEAassistancewillcontinueasoriginallyplanned.Ifthestudentsubsequentlyfailstoattendorceasesattendancewithoutcompletingthepaymentperiod,thestudent’swithdrawaldateistheoriginaldateofnotificationofintenttowithdraw.
