Guitar Hero: Van Halen Guitar Hero: Van Halen us to be released December 22, 2009. This is the 15th edition to the well known Guitar Hero. This edition will in-clude songs from Weezer, The Foo Fighters, Queen and many more. Guitar Hero: Van Halen will include famous song titles like “Runnin’ With the Devil”, “Jump”, and “Jamie’s Cryin’.”

Guitar Hero: Van Halen will be released for XBOX 360. You have a choice of playing it LIVE or regularly. If playing live, you will be al-lowed 1-8 players. If regu-larly 1-4.

This is one of the amazing music games published by Activision.

Christmas Poem

Evergreen boughs that fill our homes

With fragrant Christmas scents,

Hearts filled with the loving glow

That Christmas represents;

Christmas cookies, turkeys stuffed,

Festive holly berry,

Little faces bright with joy,

Loved ones being merry;

Parties, songs, beribboned gifts,

Silver bells that tinkle,

Christmas trees and ornaments,

Colorful lights that twinkle;

Relatives waiting with open arms

To smile and hug and kiss us;

These are some of the special toys

That come along with Christmas.

I interviewed Mrs. Deacon and Brandy Kelley about the Art Club. I asked them a series of questions then surveyed a few members of the Art Club. Q: Who came up with the Art Club? Brandy Kelley: I did. I thought it would be a great edition to the Writing Club. Mrs. Deacon: Brandy Kelley. Q: Will the Art Club be going on any out-side adventures or to Museums? Brandy Kelley: We will be going through-out the community. Mrs. Deacon: Throughout the community and outside. Q: What upcoming projects will the Art Club be doing? Brandy Kelley: We will be making Christmas Ornaments to sell during lunch to raise money for the community and more art supplies. Q: Who are the president, vice president, secretary and treasurer? Brandy Kelley: Well, that is up to Mrs. Deacon. Mrs. Deacon: The President is Brandy Kelley, Vice President is Heather Book, Secretary is Alix Woodward, and the Treasurer is William Meriweather.

I sat down with Mrs. Meeker, 7th grade math teacher, to talk to her about her job. Q: How long have you been teaching?

A: 21 years

Q: What subjects have you taught?

A: Math, Science, and Social Studies

Q: When do you retire?

A: In four years (2014)

Q: How long have you been teaching at Portsmouth?

A: 21 years

Q: Do you like teaching?

A: Yes

Q: what was your favorite year of teaching?

A: My first year of teaching in 1989

Q: Do the students like you?

A: Most of them

Q: What is the best thing about teaching?

A: When a student learns something and how they react

Q: Do you learn from the students as well as they learn from you?

A: Yes

Q: What is the worst thing about teaching?

A: Taking care of discipline

Q: What did you want to teach?

A: Math

Q: What else did you want to do besides teach?

A: I wanted to be a cosmetologist.

Q: Is teaching a fun job?

A: Some days yes

Q: How many students do you have this year?

A: 60

Q: Are you a good teacher?

A: Yes, I try to be.

Q: What is your main goal this year for teaching?

A: Prepare my students academically and socially for eighth grade.

Q: Do you do a lot of hands on projects?

A: I try to work in as many as I can.

Q: What was your weakest subject in high school?

A: Math

Q: What was your favorite subject in high school?

A: Reading

Q: Who was your favorite teacher in school?

A: Mrs. Geiger, my second grade teacher.

Q: How long have you taught seventh grade?

A: 18 years.

By: Hannah Mowery “Aliens in the Attic” is about three kids who go on a family vacation with their grandma, uncle, and three cous-ins. At the beginning of the movie, the television needs fixed, so one of the kids goes on top of the roof to find the satellite was hit by some-thing. While up there, something is seen moving. Later on, there are four little aliens found in the at-tic; three are evil and one is nice. The little girl, Hannah, names the nice alien Snuggles. To me, I liked the movie. If I were you, I would get it and watch it.
