The Student Leadership Centre Presents: Laurier Leaders! MEET TROY
What does leadership mean to you? To me, leadership is a quality that everyone has in them, but few are aware of it. To be a leader, you have to be able to put aside your own personal feelings and opinions and think about what’s best everyone else. Leadership is being there for others, and having the ability to make tough decisions when no one else can. Most importantly, a good leader inspires action, and motivates others with whatever they are doing. What leadership roles to you have on campus? I am lucky enough to be an executive in Laurier Against Childhood Cancer (LACC), which is an amazing club that gets many people across campus involved in our campaigns in order to help so many people in need. I’m also a general member in another amazing club on campus known as the Fashion and Lifestyle Society. They put on an annual fashion show to showcase local stores, and all the proceeds are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. There is never a shortage of ways to get involved at Laurier, and I hope that in my years to come I am able to get as involved as I possibly can. Why is leadership important? I think leadership is important because it is required to make change. Without leadership there would be very little guidance in the world. Leadership, on every scale, is an essential part of humanity, without it, the world would be in chaos.
