I majored in English and minored in Computer Science and Theater at Wesleyan University and have an MS in Communications and MBA from Boston University. I started my career as an actor in New York City, and moved behind the scenes to roles in marketing at Hearst Viacom before grad school. After grad school, I worked at a division of McKinsey and then my 28-year tech career began. I have been an executive at 4 start-ups and President of a multibillion dollar AI and voice recognition company.

What is your professional background?

What has your experience been like in MAPP so

far?

Be as interactive as possible. This program is full of ambitious people contemplating career pivots, seeking to enhance their skills, or bringing new perspectives to their current careers. Much of the course’s benefits come from peers and interactions, and this facet of the program is only as rewarding as each of us commit to making it be.

Do you have any advice for current or

prospective students?

It ’s the “applied” in Applied Psychology

that has been extremely useful within weeks of

starting my first MAPP term.

It’s the “Applied” in Applied Psychology that has been extremely useful within weeks of starting my first MAPP term. Many curriculums claim that the work is practical or commercially relevant. Because of MAPP, I’ve already incorporated employee engagement surveys (which was covered in my Organizational

Psychology and Research Methods courses) and revamped our consumer marketing program (informed by my Consumer Psychology and Psychology of Interactive Media courses) at my business.

What drew you to MAPP?

I have searched for a program like MAPP for many years. There are Industrial Psychology programs and Organizational Development, programs but the concept of a both organizational and consumer-focused Applied Psychology program is unique. Also I needed an online program given work commitments running a start-up.
