Student Teaching Weekly Log Directions: Answer these questions each week and email them to your student teaching supervisor by Sunday evening. Name: Mike McClanathan Week: 1. How did you spend your time this week? What responsibilities did you have? This week was spent finishing up presentations for the culture project. Thursday was the only day of direct instruction and we finished going over cause and effect skill work and working to prepare for the assessment the next day. The assessment went well and I will be grading those this week. 2. What were your most satisfying experiences? What were your most challenging experiences? My most satisfying experience this week was finally feeling one hundred percent in charge of the classroom. I now feel as though the kids see me as an equal to my mentor teacher. The most challenging experience was dealing with a student with a history of mental illness and helping him feel safe in the classroom and at school. 3. What are the plans for the upcoming week? This week I will be starting a unit over Mesopotamia. I will be bell to bell every day and have planned the entire unit out already.
