Welcome to the Schools Attuned Student's View! All students have strengths and weaknesses that impact their experience in school. This

online survey asks you to think about your own school experience. It is intended to help

you and your teachers better understand how you learn and what school is like for you. The Student’s View The first section of the Student’s View – General Strengths and Weaknesses – asks you

to tell about the aspects of school that are easy for you and the aspects that are more

difficult for you. In the Affinities section, you can tell about the things you really like to do

and learn about – both at school and outside of school.

The other sections focus on different academic subjects. Select 3 subject areas to complete –

(1) the subject you consider to be your best (2) the one that is the most difficult for you (3) the subject you like the best of all your classes

Within each subject area is a list of tasks or activities often required in that class. Mark the box that describes how easy or difficult that task is for you in that subject. You will find some tasks repeated across subjects. Be sure to think about the subject

area as you respond and feel free to respond differently for different subjects (e.g.,

remembering important information may be easier in Science than it is in History.)

There are no right or wrong answers for the items in this survey; you won’t be graded,

so please be very honest.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about how you learn best!

Affinities An affinity is something that a person really loves to do or learn about. Affinities may be activities or skills (like playing a musical instrument). Affinities may also be topics or interest areas (like animals). An affinity can be something a person does or learns in school (like math) or outside of school (like skateboarding). A person DOES NOT have to be good at something for it to be an affinity. He/she just has to really love to do or learn about the activity or topic. From the list below, indicate the activities or topics that you think are your child's affinities. You can also add affinities to the list. __ Acting/drama X Pets/animals

__ Bicycle riding/skateboarding __ Playing a musical instrument

__ Board games __ Playing individual sports, such as:
