MEET OUR PEOPLE 03
I am currently working on the “LOCAL Project Deployment” for the Design office department. This 6-month internship is part of my studies which I carry out at the “Institut Français de Mécanique Avancée” (IFMA) located in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
To summarize my internship in three words, I would say: interesting, instructive and captivating.

INTERESTING FACTS
Airbus Helicopters’ X3 hybrid helicopter made aviation history in achieving a speed milestone of 255 knots (472 km/hr) during level flight on June 7, 2013. Several days before this accomplishment, the X3 reached a speed of 263 knots (487 km/hr) during a descent. With these two successes, the X3 surpasses the unofficial speed record for a helicopter.
At the Stevenage site, we produce crystals, amongst the highest quality quartz.
We ‘grow’ them, by immersing a ‘seed’ in a bath of chemicals which is sealed and subjected to high temperatures and pressure.
Within a few weeks, we obtain a largish (c. 20cm) block of quartz. This is then be sliced, ground, polished and milled into thin slices of crystal around the diameter of a small coin.
Quartz crystals are an essential part of almost every satellite.
There are 27.000 Airbus flights every day all over the world, 35 millions of passengers every year (increasing around 1.800 million every year)

RECRUITER TIP: TOP TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION!
• In order to be considered for a position within Airbus Group, you will need to create an online profile.
• Enter your personal information and attach your CV and a cover letter in the Candidate Cockpit.
• Ensure your CV is clearly structured and the well written cover letter (void of spelling mistakes) is tailored for the position you are applying for. Try and ensure you link your relevant skills and experience to the requirements of the position. This could include any professional experience you may have but also internships completed in the past and involvement in extracurricular activities. If the link between the CV and the job description is not obvious, then you can give more details in the motivation letter.
• Include keywords, for the position to which you are applying, in your CV, as this will enhance the possibilities of the recruitment team finding your profile in our candidate pool.
• Adapt your CV to the country you are applying to (e.g.: in the UK, you do not need to put a photo of yourself on the CV).
• Always apply in English, except if stated otherwise.
• Remember the more detail you include in your profile, the easier it is for our recruitment team to match you with our open positions!
• Set up a Job Agent in your candidate cockpit which will allow you to be informed about interesting vacancies as soon as they are published on our job market.
• Finally, unlock your profile (you can do this in the “Profile status” section of the Candidate Cockpit), this way you will maximize your visibility, which means that your details can be seen by all Airbus Group recruiters and can consider you for other suitable positions!
Become an Airbus Group intern and take the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it first-hand to real situations and assignments during your studies
