The Basildon Academies VOICE Each girl received a runners up trophy a STUDENTS CELEBRATE SUCCESS AT THE ACADEMIES PRESENTATION EVENING On Thursday 9th May The Basildon Academies hosted a Presentation Evening to celebrate and reward student progress during the Spring Term. Students from each year group were presented with certificates in recognition of their ‘Passion for Learning’ and ‘Growth’ in each of the different subjects. In recognition of excellent commitment to learning, one student from each year group also received the prestigious ‘Very Important Pupil Award’. “I feel appreciated and proud of my accomplishments. I appreciate that my English Teacher acknowledged it.” Kristine Smilga - Year 10 “I really appreciated that my teachers took notice of the amount of work I was putting in.” Tega Atomre - Year 10 “Receiving the Passion for Learning Award was a shock but I always believed in myself. I am capable of working well in different subjects. Thanks to my class mates for always supporting me and never doubting me.” Charlie Lewis - Year 7 “My mum said to me that she knew I could do it and wanted me to work to the best of my ability, so it was great to prove her right.” Keira Emery - Year 9 “I was caught off guard when I discovered I was going to receive an award. I am really proud to have received my award.” Kristian Dangerfield - Year 9 “When I received the invitation through the post I was excited because I didn’t know what subject category I was getting an award for. During the evening I was called up to receive my Growth Award in Catering. I was very happy because I like cooking. STUDENTS CELEBRATE SUCCESS AT THE ACADEMIES PRESENTATION EVENINGOn Thursday 9th May The Basildon Academies hosted a Presentation Evening to celebrate and reward student progress during the Spring Term.

Students from each year group were presented with certificates in recognition of their ‘Passion for Learning’ and ‘Growth’ in each of the different subjects. “When I heard my name being called out I felt really surprised and proud of myself that all the hard work I’ve done has been recognised. I got a reward for History and Drama which are subjects I really enjoy.” Anna Coka - Year 9

“It felt great to receive the award for Science as I have always dedicated a lot of time and effort into studying and revising for this subject. Being recognised for these contributions makes me feel appreciated.” Taite Greenland - Year 10

“I feel really proud to have been awarded as being one of the top achievers in Physical Education.” John Cain - Year 8

“Hair & Beauty and Art are my favourite lessons so I was very happy when I received my awards. My parents are very proud of my achievements and so am I.” Daniela Ghinda - Year 9

“When I got the certificate for French I was shocked and happy, my mum said she was so proud of me. I try to do my best in every subject. I like to learn new things, I do my work and ask for help if I need it. I’m really proud of myself.” Jessica Sharp - Year 7

“The presentation evening was really exciting because I didn’t know what I would be receiving an award for and made me think what subject it could have been. When my name was called up I realised I have been noticed for my passion for catering. I am very thankful for the award.” Amber Yoozooph - Year 7

VERY IMPORTANT PUPIL AWARD WINNERS

“I was surprised when my name was called to receive my VIPA award. It was really nice to be recognised for my work. As well as my certificate I received a book entitled ‘You are Awesome’ which I have started to read and am really enjoying.”

“When my name appeared on the screen I was shocked! All my friends looked at me and cheered. It felt so good to achieve this and it is all because my teachers and parents pushed me to be the best I can be and to keep on working hard.”
