    WHEN CAN I STUDY ABROAD AT ESSEX?

    Spend a term or year studying abroad at Essex and experience life the Essex way. You

    can also join us for a gap year.

    Students are able to study abroad at Essex throughout the academic year: Autumn term only (September – December) Spring/Summer term only (January – June) Academic Year (September – June) Calendar year (January – December)

    FEES

    EXCHANGE STUDENTS

    You could be eligible to apply for our

    student exchange programme if your

    university has an exchange or Erasmus+

    agreement with Essex. Exchange and

    Erasmus+ students do not pay tuition fees

    for their Study Abroad period.

    Academic requirements:

    Students must be in good academic

    standing

    Gap year applicants must have finished

    high school education before enrolling

    English language requirements:

    IELTS 6.0 or

    TOEFL iBT 76

    *Non-specialist higher education institutions with a survey population of at least 500. Academic Year 2020-21

    Accommodation costs* £102.13 - £188.30 per week

    *(2020-21 rates)

    All information is correct at time of printing (September 2019).

    Deadlines apply for guaranteed accommodation. Students who

    require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK will also need to meet

    the relevant Home Office requirements.

    Worried about where you’ll live? Never fear:

    University accommodation is guaranteed for

    study abroad students. What’s more, this

    includes a free Essex Sport gym membership!
