“The skills I developed have clearly given me a distinct advantage over my peers at work. Most of the courses are structured around continuous assessments which require an intensive approach to the task. All the teaching, projects and case studies were targeted at current industrial scenarios. It is not only about books, UCD has got a variety events lined up throughout the year with the UCD Students Union functioning at the heart of everything.”

“I proudly look back at my year at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School where I made great friends, learnt about international and local cultures and also developed an exemplary insight into my chosen industry. The support from the Faculty and Career Development team in finding a suitable career option was incredible.”

“Ireland is ranked highly when it comes to information technology and computing and there are many multinational companies that use Ireland as a base for their HQs. This means there is huge scope and opportunity in the industry here for experience and graduate positions. At DCU, there are 3 organizations working together to make sure you make the most of your time at DCU both in the lecture halls, and outside them. The Student Union's doors are always open to students in need of anything from support, advice, clubs, societies, to events. The opportunities are endless!”

“Coming from a non-computing background, many facets of the world of technologies were new to me and I found the course to be of an exceptional quality and easy to follow. Being an international student and travelling to Europe for the first time added to my anxiety. The program is designed and administered so seamlessly that I not only felt 'the warm welcome' but, my faculty and peers became a support system throughout my stay as well as a network for life. So much so, that I have decided to stay on in Ireland post the Masters to gain some international work experience. I personally believe this qualification will be a mark in the long run whereby everything will be judged on the basis of whether it came before or after the NCI masters.”

“After submitting my thesis, I got a job offer from General Motors within a week and I moved to Limerick. Within one year I went from a student to professional. While my choice to stay in Ireland after studies was partly motivated by my desire to put my skills in action, it was to a great effect due to exceptional experience I had over the course of my Masters. “Before actually stepping on to the humongous corporate world, my course exposed me to the best blend of different cultures and international management dynamics within the classroom arena. The international study trip to Hong Kong as part of the course was enriching to gain wider international exposure in tandem with the Irish corporate world. I would highly recommend Ireland since most of the companies have their European headquarters located here. It has excellent quality of education, it is an English speaking nation with friendly people all around.”

“I decided to pursue a Masters course in mechanical engineering, in order to gain an edge in a very competitive environment. The MEngSc in Mechanical Engineering at UCC particularly attracted my attention because of the repute the university holds in the international market and the course in itself is very highly ranked in the world. The course being of 1 year was extremely challenging and busy right from the start. Time management was one of the key skills that I learnt here. It was designed to give an overview of the different engineering sectors where a mechanical engineer can be employed. I did well in my course and achieved Distinction. As soon as I finished my studies, I was offered the position of a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer at a company called 'Kostal' in Ireland.”
