云南省国土面积39.4万平方公里，与越南、缅甸、老挝接壤，边境线长4061公里，

占中国陆路边境线的1/5，目前有20个国家级、省级口岸以及90多条出境通道。全省总人

口4571万，15个少数民族是云南特有，少数民族人口占全省总人口的34.1%。云南富含水

力、地热、旅游、生物和民族文化等资源，素有“动物王国”、“植物王国”、“有色

金属王国”之称，自然风光优美，人文景观迷人。省会城市昆明，总面积2.11万平方公

里，总人口503万人，冬暖夏凉，四季花香，享有“春城”的美誉。

作为中国面向西南开放的重要“桥头堡”，云南正在多方位、宽领域、快速地走向

世界，云南的教育开放也遇到了难得的机遇。2009年，云南129个县（市、区）将全面实

现基本普及九年义务教育，基本扫除青壮年文盲。全省现有高等学校63所，高等教育毛

入学率和普通高等学校在校生从2000年的4.91%、9.04万人分别提高到2009年的17.57%、

58.95万人。高等教育已从精英教育迈向了大众化教育的阶段。丰富的民族文化、生物、

旅游以及地域等优势，为云南高校带来学科、专业以及研究领域的特色和优势，为开拓

与周边国家的教育交流与合作奠定了良好的基础。到2009年，已与50个国家、地区和国

际组织建立了教育合作关系。

不断扩大与国外特别是美洲国家高等学校的交流与合作,是云南高等教育发展的方

向。我们将进一步完善相关政策措施，规范留学程序，加大政府投入，提高办学质量，

突出办学特色，不断拓展高等教育交流与合作领域，加强与国外特别是美国的教育合

On south of the Rosy Clouds there is a land, time-honored, magical, beautiful, fertile, prospective and dynamic. Like a magnificent gem inlaid in the southwestern frontiers of China. This is Yunnan Province.

Boasting an area of 394,000 square kilometers, Yunnan borders Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos, with 4,061 kilometers of frontier lines in total. The frontier lines in Yunnan take up 1/5 of the total in china. At present, there are over 20 ports at the national level or provincial level and more than 90 outbound passages in Yunnan. The whole population in Yunnan amounts to 45.71 million, of whom 34.1% are ethnic minorities. In particular, 15 ethnic minority groups are found only to Yunnan Province. Yunnan has abundant resources in hydropower, geothermal energy, tourism, biology and ethnic culture, hence the laudatory titles of "Kingdom of Animals”, "Kingdom of Plants" and "Kingdom of Non-ferrous Metals”, the natural landscapes are scenic and the cultural customs are enchanting. The provincial capital is Kunming, with an area of 21.1 thousand square kilometers and a population of 5.03 million. Kunming enjoys the reputation of "Spring City" since it is warm in winter and cool in summer with fragrant flowers all the year round.

As the front porch of china’s opening-up to Southeast Asia and South Asia, Yunnan speed up its step in marching to the world arena in all dimensions. Meanwhile, Yunnan also encounters with unprecedented opportunities in opening its education to the outside world. In 2009, Yunnan fundamentally universalized Nine-year Compulsory Education in 129 counties or cities and districts at the county level. Meanwhile illiteracy was basically wiped out among young and middle-aged people .At present Yunnan houses 63 higher education institutions; the gross enrollment rate of higher education and the total enrollment of college students were increased to17.57% and 589.5 thousand in 2009 compared with 4.91% and 90.4 thousand respectively in 2000. Education of meritocracy is now giving way to that of the multitude. Vantage in diverse ethnic culture, biology, tourism and geography of Yunnan province brought about achievements and characteristics in disciplines, specialties and research fields of higher education institutions in Yunnan, it also sets a sound foundation for the cooperation and exchange in education with the neighboring countries. Up to 2009, Yunnan had jointly cooperated with educational institutions from over 50 different countries, regions and international organizations.

The constant reinforcement of cooperation and exchange with foreign higher education institutions, especially with those of American countries is the aim of the development of Yunnan education. Yunnan will improve and perfect relevant policies and measures, standardize related formalities for international students, increase governmental input, enhance education quality and give prominence to disciplinary features, tap exchange and cooperation in higher education, strengthen cooperation in vocational education with foreign countries, mainly with the United States. We will upgrade our teachers’ capacity in the international context and reinforce our strong and distinctive specialties and course; we will increase scholarships of the People's Government of Yunnan Province for American students, and will create a safer and more comfortable environment for learning and living.

I believe through our concerted efforts, higher education in Yunnan will continue be internationalized and Yunnan will become China’s significant talent training base geared to the needs of China’s opening up the world.

云南地处中国西南边陲，是中国面向西南开放的重要“桥头堡”。早在2000年前，

云南就已经成为中国与外界文化交流的重要地区，各种文化在这里汇集交融，逐步形成

了特色鲜明的滇文化，铸就了兼容并包、乐观向上的民族文化心理，至今仍然是云南各

族人民向现代化迈进不可或缺的精神财富和力量源泉。特别是在第二次世界大战期间，

在中国遭受日本帝国主义疯狂侵略的生死存亡关头，陈纳德将军率领的“中国空军美国

志愿援华航空队”与中国人民并肩战斗，在云南留下了许多可歌可泣的事迹，与云南人

民结下了深厚的感情。

几千年来的人类历史已经积累了足够多的知识，而且人类还在不断积累新的知识，

人类社会也进入了知识经济时代。但是，只有足够的智慧，而不是知识，才可以让人的

生命获得内在的升华，才可以使人的生存显得更加舒适幸福，才可以让人的生活充满希

望和阳光，因为知识的本质是外向征服，而智慧的本质则使人的内涵更加丰富。尽管我

们承袭了数千年积累的智慧，但我们能够意识到，新的智慧的增长是极其缓慢的，直到

今天我们还在学习、借鉴孔子等先哲们的智慧。拥有孔子的中华民族和拥有自由平等与

民主法制精神理念的美利坚民族都是优秀而极富有智慧的民族。因此，我们的交流合作

就绝对不应仅仅是对于彼此知识的了解和学习，而应该相互学习和借鉴彼此的智慧。如

此，必能使人类智慧的增长有所加快。

民族有差异，智慧无国界。随着经济全球化的不断发展，各国政府都把教育放在优

先发展的战略地位。我们清楚地注意到，由于经济发展的不平衡，带来教育发展的不平

衡，包括地区间、国家间、同一国家的不同地区之间的不平衡。因此促进区域间、国际

间教育的交流与合作，已成为各国政府、学校、教师、学生们的共同愿望和要求。我们

也注意到，由于经济、文化、乃至宗教信仰等方面的差异，还有许多因素阻碍着这种交

流与合作；同时由于语言、教育体制不同，以及各国相互间信息交流不足，沟通了解不

够，也在一定程度上制约了我们之间的合作与交流。但是，我们毕竟有优先发展教育事

业的共同愿望，同时，我们也面临着许多共同的问题和挑战。因此，云南和美国之间的

教育合作空间将非常广阔，我们的合作前景也一定会非常美好。

经济全球化在不断推进，国际交流与合作在不断深化，与此同时，云南也正在走向

世界、融入世界；世界也正在认识云南，了解云南。近年来云南教育全面加强教育体系

建设、加强学校基础设施建设、加强教育体制机制建设、加强现代教师队伍建设、加强

现代教育价值建设、加强学校现代管理，着力推进以人为本、坚守公平，以价值教育为


Yunnan Province, situated in Southwest China, is a “bridgehead” connecting China with the regions of Southeast Asia and South Asia. As early as 2000 years ago, it had been the important region of international exchanges in culture, where various cultures converged to promote the formation of the unique Dian Culture, which is inclusive, optimistic and progressive. This cultural orientation has still been the spiritual wealth and power source of the ethnic peoples in Yunnan on their way toward modernization, especially in the World War II, the critical time when China suffered from Japanese imperialism invasion, Commander Claire Chennault, along with American Volunteer Group, namely, “Flying Tiger”, fought side by side with Chinese People. This historical event did not only leave many impressive and heroic memories, but also help, establishing profound friendship between American people and Yunnan people.

It is known that sufficient knowledge has been accumulated during the process of human history, and humans never stop making efforts to accumulate new knowledge. Now human beings are entering an era of knowledge economy. However, it is wisdom, rather than mere knowledge, that can enrich human life and make our life happier, more comfortable, and more promising. It is because that knowledge means external conquest while wisdom enriches human beings. Despite the wisdom passed down to us for thousands of years, we realize that the increase of wisdom is in a slow process and currently we are still learning from the wisdom of Confucius and other ancient philosophers. Chinese people, offspring of Confucianism,

断进步的现代教育，云南教育事业进入到一个大发展、大变革、大跨越的时期，以人为

根本、以能力培养为核心、以社会公平为基础，以教真育爱为本真，以生命教育、生存

教育、生活教育为主要内容的现代教育理念正在云南得以实践并初见成效，云南教育已

开始全面与国际现代教育无缝对接。

云南教育始终坚持“国际化思维、本土化行动、现代化目标”的发展思路，牢牢

把握培养国际化人才这一核心，紧紧抓住教育资源国际共享这一关键，千方百计构筑校

际交流合作平台，解放思想，开阔视野，大胆引进和吸收国际先进的教育理念和教育机

制。着力实施教育“桥头堡”建设工程，准备打造国际教育家园，建设一座世界教育博

物馆、世界教育博览会，建设国际教育基础平台、国际教育科研交流平台、国际教育人

才培养平台，新建一所综合性的国际大学。特别是制定了《加快云南教育国际化进程的

实施意见》，在建立开放办学体制、加强教育交流合作、扩大招收外国留学生规模等方

面出台了更为优惠的措施。

我们带着4571万云南各族人民的热情与真诚到美国举办“2010云南教育展”和“中

美教育论坛”，旨在展示云南现代教育取得的成绩，共享人类文明成果，丰厚人类各民

族的智慧，为中美教育的交流合作搭建新平台，促进与美利坚民族智慧的融合和发展。

加强云南和美国政府教育部门之间的联系与沟通，探讨双方在教育领域内共同关心的问

题，寻求扩大教育领域的合作，取得美国政府高层对加强云南教育合作的支持，促进云

南的学校及有关教育机构开展实质性的国际合作和交流项目，吸引更多的美国学生到云

南留学。我相信这一活动必将对云南与美国教育交流合作产生积极影响。


and American people with the belief of freedom, equality, democracy, and rule of law, are two excellent and intelligent nationalities. Therefore, the communication and cooperation between us should not just limit to only learning about and studying from each other. Instead, we should learn from each other in terms of wisdom. Thus this would speed up the progress of human wisdom.

Peoples are different while wisdoms are borderless. Along with the economic globalization, priority has been given to education in many countries. We have clearly noticed that the unbalanced economic development leads to the unbalanced development of education in different regions or countries. It has thus become common wish and request for governments, schools, teachers and students to promote both regional and international communication and cooperation. We also noticed that the differences in economy, culture and religion, together with insufficient information exchange, somehow hindered this communication and cooperation. Problems and challenges exist. Meanwhile, the communication and cooperation between us have also been hindered by our different languages, education systems, and insufficient information exchange. However, we have the same goal of giving priority to develop education. Meanwhile, we are also facing some similar problems and challenges. Also due to that, the cooperation in the field of education between US and Yunnan has broad space and a promising future.

The globalized economy is steadily accelerating. International communication and cooperation are deepening. At the same time, Yunnan is moving forward globally. The world also begins to recognize and understand Yunnan. In recent years, great efforts have been made in Yunnan education to strengthen the development of educational system, basis construction at schools, educational mechanism, modern teachers’ education, modern educational value, and modern schooling management. In addition, great emphasis has been given to promote modern education which meets the needs of current economic and social development and also leads to the continuously social progress. This kind of modern education is characterized with humanism, justice, value education, ability education, and system education. Yunnan education has entered an era of great development, great change, and great transformation. In this new era, the modern educational ideology, which takes humanism as its foundation, ability enhancement as its core, the social justice as its base, education of truth and love as its nature, and life-survival-living education as its main content, has been put into practice and begun to take effects. Yunnan education has begun to immerse with internationally modern education.

Yunnan education has insisted on global way of thinking, localized actions and modernized goals, with the central work of training talents recognized by the world, sharing educational resources, and strengthening educational cooperation. All these efforts should contribute to establish a platform of communication and cooperation. Yunnan should also keep an open mind and vision and boldly absorb internationally-advanced educational ideas and mechanism. Yunnan will begin to launch an “education forefront project” in the purpose of making it the home for international education, building an international education museum, holding education exhibition, setting up platforms for international education, research exchange and training international talents and establishing a comprehensively international university.


Especially, Yunnan has enacted Measures on Speeding Internationalization of Yunnan Education, and announced more preferential measures to help establish an open schooling system, strengthen educational cooperation, and attract more foreign students.

With the sincerity and enthusiasm of 45.71 million people of Yunnan, a province characterized with great ethnic diversity, we hold the 2010 Yunnan Educational Exhibition and Sino-US Education Forum, in the hope of showing great achievements of Yunnan education, sharing human civilization, enriching human wisdoms, and establishing new platform of Sino-US education cooperation for better understanding and development of wisdoms of both nations. Through this opportunity, education authorities of Yunnan and US shall further contacts and communications, explore issues concerned by both in the field of education, seek ways to broaden educational cooperation, acquire supports from American government officials to promote international cooperation, and thus to attract more American students to study in Yunnan. It is my belief that these activities would make positive influences on the educational communication and cooperation between Yunnan and the USA.

我是一个越南留学生，在中国云南留学已4年了。

读完高中我就选择到中国留学，原因有很多、其中

最重要的一个就是我喜欢汉语。我之所以喜欢汉语

是因为：第一、我们国家跟中国在文化上有很多共

同点。越南语很久以前也有汉字，所以如果加以学

习并研究汉语我觉得很有意义。第二是汉语在现代

社会，在我们生活中的位置，越来越受人们的重

视。经过询问、思考在中国留学的情况，我决定在

这里留学。对我来说这次留学是我第一次离开家庭

这么长时间，虽然云南离越南也不是很远，但那时

候我只希望我留学的地方越近越好。云南省留学生

最多的学校是云南师范大学，并且汉语言文学这个

专业是我最感兴趣的，最后我选择了在这留学。那

时对云南还是很陌生，但幸亏有了各位老师的关心

和周围朋友的帮助，我慢慢就习惯了。我对云南的

答：昆明理工大学是在云南学习理工类专业最好的

答：我是昆明理工大学的第一个本科外国留学生。

作为第一个本科外国留学生，我觉得压力很大，因

为既然来了就好学好，更何况自己是第一个，更要

好好的学习，给后面来的同学做好榜样。当然，一

个人独自在外留学是有困难的，我的同学来自中国

的各自地区，但是我们能够相互尊重、和睦相处，

互相帮助，大家在一起很开心，我在昆工的学习很

愉快，老师、同学都给我很多的帮助。

问：你对云南印象如何?

答：云南气候怡人，云南人也很热情，尤其是有很

多少数民族，我们可以了解很多不同民族的文我觉

this is an American family. They have lived in lijiang for 3 years. All of their lovely children have grown up in Lijiang. The reason why they study here is that it's a smaller city with less population, and no pollution. 云师大在云南也是一所有名的学校。学校在教

育上对我们留学生采取的措施很好，可能是因为我

们留学生太多了，学校在管理上还存在一些不足的

地方。但是我相信国际语言文化学院以后会越来越

好，会吸收到更多留学生到这里学习，云师大会成

为是他们留学的最好选择。

Q;What's your impression of Yunnan?A:The climate of Yunnan is good for living; the

Why do you choose Lijiang Teachers Training College for study?

It is conveniently located just north of Lijiang Old Town. The administration is friendly towards foreign students. The small number of students in each class allows each students receive personal affection from the professors. The teachers have demonstrated a willingness to alter teaching techniques to help facilitate various learning styles of the students. Sometimes the classes are real challenges but the teachers are able keep the students from feeling overwhelmed. Rod

Yunnan University is located in Kunming, a city noted for its mild climate in southwest China. It started as a privately-run institution called "University of the Eastern Land" which began enrollment in April, 1922. It is one of the earliest comprehensive universities in southwest China. The University became prestigious at home and abroad, and in 1946, it was recognized by the Concise Encyclopedia Britannica as one of the fifteen world-renowned universities in China. Over the past eight decades or more, the University has made brilliant accomplishments.

Occupying a total area of more than 750 acres, Yunnan University comprises 18 schools, 8 institutes and 1 public teaching department, offering 79 undergraduate programs in the domains of literature, history, philosophy, economics, managements, law, science, engineering, and education. It enjoys 4 national key disciplines and 37 provincial key disciplines. Moreover, the University has 56 PhD programs, 4 post-doctoral stations, 1 Post-doctoral Workstation in Enterprise, 158 master’s degree programs, and 7 professional degree programs including MPA, MBA, JM, ME etc.

Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) is currently the largest university and the only polytechnic university in Yunnan province, China. It is a public university officially founded in September 1954. With a total area of 320 hectares, KUST is comprised of 4 campuses, which are located in Kunming City, the capital city of Yunnan Province.

KUST is offering 79 undergraduate programs covering engineering, science, management, economics, law, arts, education and agriculture, and also 156 Master and 41 Doctoral degree programs. There are 66,000 students in KUST, and among them 30,000 are full time students on campus, including over 7,000 graduate students, while the other 36,000 students are in different continuing education programs.

KUST has about 1900 full-time academic staffs, including over 900 associate professors and professors.

INTRODUCTION TO KUNMING UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

There is one academician of China Academy of Engineering working for KUST full time and 23 academicians of China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering working for KUST part time.

KUST has currently a national university science park, a national technology transfer demonstration centre, 3 national experiment and teaching demonstration centers. There are nearly 100 research centers and laboratories in KUST, of which 30 are recognized as the national or provincial level.

KUST has established partnerships with over 60 institutions in nearly 30 countries, and has recruited nearly 1,000 international students from 28 countries. School of International Programs in KUST is in charge of the enrollment, preparatory courses, Chinese language and culture teaching to international students as well as provides all kinds of services.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS EDUCATION PROGRAM

Non-degree ProgramsA.Chinese Language ProgramsWe offer language courses of half a year, 1 year and 2

years. Enrollments are available in March and September. Students can enroll in Elementary Courses, Intermediate Courses, or Advanced Courses. Small class or individual teaching is available upon request. Transfer students are also acceptable at any time during the semester.

Students could learn Chinese Language, Chinese Culture, Chinese Traditional Painting, Chinese Brush Calligraphy and Shadowboxing, etc. A lot of cultural and language practice activities are also arranged, such as visiting places of interest in Kunming, visiting ethnic minority villages and watching ethnic minority dancing and singing.

B.Programs for General Visiting StudentsDuration of study is at least 6 months. Enrollments

are available in March and September. We offer the same programs with that of the Chinese undergraduate students.

C.Programs for Advanced Visiting StudentsDuration of study is at least 6 months. Enrollments

are available in March and September. Students can select courses for Master's, Doctor’s candidates and take the major under the guidance of the professors’ particular specializations.

D.Short-term Chinese Training and Culture Understanding ProgramsThe programs are organized for groups of students

(above 10) from foreign educational institutes and other organizations. A flexible curriculum caters to the needs and requirement of the students, lasting 2-10 weeks. Students could learn Basic Chinese Language, Chinese Culture, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, Chinese Kong Fu (including Shadowboxing), Chinese Folk Musical Instruments, etc. After course study, students will have a tour in Yunnan Province, to understand Chinese culture and geography.

E.Professional Training ProgramsWe accept commissions of foreign educational

institutions and other organizations to organize all kinds of professional training courses and practice. We establish special courses in science, engineering, management, economics, etc. The program can start at any time during

the year. These programs are currently not available for individual applicants.

Degree ProgramsA.Bachelor’s Program on Chinese for Complete BeginnersIt is a 4-year undergraduate Chinese program for

beginners. The first two years is for general Chinese courses, and the second two years is for specialized courses. Enrollments are available in September, and the students who transfer from other schools are acceptable.

B.Preparatory Classes and Bachelor’s ProgramsIt is a 1+4 years or 1+5 years (for Architecture and

City Planning) undergraduate program. The first year is for general Chinese courses, the second year is for advanced Chinese courses and a few specialized courses. Students can participate in the subject courses with Chinese students as sophomores. Enrollments are available in September.

C.Bachelor’s Program The applicant should be a high school graduates with

an acceptable level of Chinese. All the majors in KUST are available. Normal duration of schooling is 4 or 5 years, starting in September each year.

D.Master's Program The applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree with an

acceptable level of Chinese. Normal duration of schooling is 2.5 years, starting in February and September each year.

E.Doctor’s ProgramThe applicant should have a Master’s degree with an

acceptable level of Chinese. Normal duration of schooling is 3-6 years, starting in February and September each year.

Formerly the “Teachers’ College” of the famous Southwest Associate University that was jointly founded by Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University that moved southwards in 1938, Yunnan Normal University (YNNU) is located in the beautiful “Spring City” Kunming —— capital of Yunnan province. YNNU has brought up prestigious alumni such as Nobel Prize winners Dr. Yang Zhenning and Dr. Li Zhengdao.

YNNU’s campuses cover 3,680 mu. The university has a faculty and staff of 2,117, among which, 205 are professors, and 535 are assistant professors. The university has got an enrollment of 16,000 undergraduates and postgraduates. YNNU is composed of 23 schools and 30 research institutes, offering 76 Doctor’s Degree program, Master’s Degree programs and 54 B.A. specialties. All programs are open to international students. Yunnan Normal University is authorized by the government to receive international students. It is the only base of UNESCO in southwest China to train in-service English teachers. 昆明医学院现有13个二级学院，19个本科专业，涵盖

昆明医学院是云南省最大的集教学、科研、医疗为

一体的多学科、多层次的高等医学院校，其前身是创办于

1933年的云南省立东陆大学医学专修科，1937年成立云南大

学医学院，1956年独立建院。1993年被省政府确定为省属重

点院校。学校在培养高级医学人才的同时，昆明医学院承

担起促进全省医疗卫生事业发展的社会责任，为云南边疆

少数民族地区培养了一支爱岗敬业、医德高尚、技术精湛

的医疗卫生专业队伍，6万余名毕业生扎根云南边疆，服务

历史 HISTORY

In 1933, Donglu University initiated a specialized associate program in medicine and this has since evolved and grown into the Kunming Medical University (KMU) of today. In 1937, the program expanded and became known as the School of Medicine of Yunnan University, formerly known as Donglu University. In 1956, the School became an independent medical education institution known as Kunming Medical College, and in 1993 was listed among the key higher education institutions in the province. Since its inception, Kunming Medical University has established itself as the largest specialized medical university in Yunnan and leads the way in medical education, scientific research and medical services. In the long history since its inception, Kunming Medical University has not only provided higher level medical education but also has taken responsibility for the development of medical and health care in Yunnan province. The over 60,000 graduates of KMU have made an outstanding contribution to the economic and social development of the whole province.

The campus of the university occupies 108 hectares. It has over 14,000 students, of which nearly 1,700 are graduate students. The University has 6,500 staff, and 1250 are professors and associate professors.

KMU has 13 schools, offering 19 Bachelor's Degree programs, 33 Master's Degree programs, and 1 Doctor's Degree program. It has 8 research institutes, 10 affiliated hospitals, 9 teaching hospitals, 39 practice hospitals, 9 forensic medicine sites, 6 preventive medicine practice sites, 4 pharmaceutical practice sites, and 2 optical practice sites. Kunming Medical University has made remarkable achievements in the area of international exchange and cooperation. It has launched inter-institutional academic partnerships and exchange programs with medical schools and institutions in more than 40 countries worldwide, such as France, the U.S.A, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Australia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. 云南农业大学位于春城昆明，是云南省唯一一所省属

重点农业大学。学校创办于1938年。校区共占地150公顷,图

书馆藏书119.3万册，电子文献85.3万册，千兆校园网功能

齐全。学校现设17个学院，涵盖了种植业、养殖业等涉农

学科以及部分人文社会科学学科。学校现有在职教职工1541

人，其中，教授132人，副教授386人；博士生导师34人，

Yunnan Agricultural University(YAU) is the only key provincial agricultural university in Yunnan Province. It was established in 1938, with its campus near Kunming's famous scenic spot, Black Dragon Pool. Composing of two campuses—east and west, YAU covers an area of 150

hectares. The book collection in the two libraries of the east and west campuses holds 1.193 million volumes, as well as 0.853 volumes of E-books. It also has a fully functional campus Internet network and computer system. YAU now has 1541 faculty members, including 132 professors and 386 associate professors. They include thirty-four doctoral supervisors, 402 Supervisors of Master students. Currently, there are 12041 full-time undergraduate students, 1371 post-graduate students, ninety-three doctoral students, 119 international students, and 7931 students seeking for in-service education. The University is equipped with 4 National Scientific Research Center and six scientific research centers of Provincial Scientific Research Platform.

Yunnan University of Nationalities (YUN), founded on August 1, 1951, is a comprehensive university, fostering first-class specialists of all Chinese ethnic groups, including the Han nationality. It is not only one of the first

higher institutions specially purposed to the education of the Chinese ethnic minorities, and provincial key university co-built by State Ethnic Affairs Commission and Yunnan Provincial Government, but also a newly planned accredited university of doctoral degree programs.

玉溪师范学院前身是玉溪师范高等专科学校，创建于

1978年，2000年经国家教育部批准，与玉溪成人教育中心、

玉溪师范学校合并，成立玉溪师范学院。

学校依红塔山而建，背靠红塔森林生态公园，环境优

美，风景旖旎，总占地面积1098.64亩，设有11个学院，36

个本科专业，学校现有679名在职教职工，在校全日制学生

Yuxi Normal University (YXNU) was established in 1978 by combining the former Yuxi Teachers’ College and Yuxi Adult Education Center, which aims at fostering and training the highly qualified teachers and professionals in the fields of agriculture, business, sociology, IT industry and etc..

The university is built on the side of Hongta Hill with its Forest Park at the back. It occupies 76 acres of land and the scenery around it is picturesque. There are 11 schools under the university with 36 undergraduate majors in 7 fields, including literature, law, education, management, science, engineering and agriculture. Presently there are 679 staff and 12000 youths who are registered as the full time students for their bachelor degree study.

曲靖师范学院地处中国第三大河流珠江的源头、云

南省第二大城市、爨文化的故乡、“全国十佳宜居城

市”——曲靖市，距离省会昆明140公里。

学校现有三个校区，占地总面积1267亩，建有综合教

Qujing Normal University is located in Qujing City, the second largest city in Yunnan, the hometown of Cuan Culture, one of the “Top 10 National Livable City”, and the Source of the Pearl River which is the third largest river in China. It is 140km from Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province.

On the university campuses, about 1267mu (85 hectares), stands an all-purpose teaching building, an experiment building for sciences, a modern information technology center, a large library stocked with 1.08 million volumes, an arts center, a students’ auditorium, sports center, and a golf course.

Founded in 2002, the Tourism and Culture College of Yunnan University is located in the southwestern Chinese city of Lijiang, which enjoys the prestige of being a World Culture Heritage site, World Nature Reserve and World Memory Heritage site. Founded in 1952, Kunming Metallurgy College (KMMC) is a public institute of higher learning established under the directive of the Chinese National Ministry of Education. Over the past 57 years, it has become a multi-disciplinary,

comprehensive higher vocational college awarding disciplines in science, engineering, management, business and the arts. Simao Teacher’s College is located in Pu’er prefecture, which lies in the Southwest of Yunan province and enjoys the fame of “the hometown of world tea, the tea city of China and the capital of Pu’er tea”. 学校占地421.8亩；专任教师177人（硕士生19人，双师

日制在校生5054人；开设有医疗技术类、药品类十四个专业

（药学、医学检验技术专业为省级骨干专业）。学校先后获

Chuxiong Medical College generated from Shanghai Health School which was founded in 1950. In the autumn of 1970, the relocation of the School to Chuxiong was completed and the name of Chuxiong Health School of Yunnan Province was admitted. In May of 2000, it was designated by the Ministry of Education as a national key secondary college and was approved as a high level medicine college by the National Ministry of Education by February of 2006.

Located in the famous tourist resort and picturesque spring city Kunming, Yunnan Provincial Tourism School (YPTS) occupies 144 hectares, which is under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Provincial Tourist Administration. It is a vocational school that is able to recruit overseas students and the only tourism service export base. After 54 years’ development, it has become a fist class establishment with comprehensive programs focusing mainly on tourism and engineering, but also courses in the liberal Arts, Science, Art and Physical Education.

The school campus is known for its year-round beauty. Everyday from dawn until dusk the school is filled with the cheerful laughter and energetic activities of more than 4,000 students. 抗日战争期间，北大、清华和南开三所著名大学南迁，

并于1940年11月21日组建了“国立西南联合大学师范学院附

设学校”。抗战胜利后，附中更名为“国立昆明师范学院附

属中学”1984年,昆明师范学院更名为“云南师范大学”，

附中随之更名为“云南师范大学附属中学”。2003年，为适

应云南基础教育发展需要，经云南省教育厅、云南师大批

准，在云南师大附中原校址创办的一所国有民办性质的完全

中学，是云南师大附中分校。目前，在校学生3400余人。学

校环境优美，古树繁茂，基础设施完善，有现代化的多媒体

教室、音乐美术教室、健身中心和计算机室，有设备完善的

理化生实验室，有学术报告厅、大礼堂、塑胶球场等，为学

During the second world war, three famous universities, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University, moved to the south of China to avoid the disturbance of the war, and on November 21, 1940, established the School Attached to the Teachers Collage of National Southwest Union University. After the war, the school changed its name to the National High School Attached to Normal University in Kunming. In 1984, the Teachers College changed its name to Yunnan Normal University, and along with it the predecessor of our school changed its name to High School Attached to Yunnan Normal University. In 2003, with the approval of the Provincial Office of Education and Yunnan Normal University, Experimental Middle School Attached to Yunnan Normal University was set up for the development of middle school education in Yunnan Province. The school is a combined state owned and private sector school and located in the original site of high School Attached to Normal University. It is also a branch of the high school and has more than 3400 students. The School is full of lush trees and equipped with modern facilities. We have large classrooms with modern multimedia facilities, music and art rooms, a fitness center and computer rooms; we also have fully equipped laboratories for biology, physics and chemistry, an academic lecture hall, auditorium, stadium and other outdoor sports facilities. 永胜县第四中学是人民政府主办的一所省二级一等完全

中学。

永胜县位于滇西北丽江市中部，境内有金沙江、程海

湖、古地震遗址、毛氏边屯文化、他留文化等自然和人文

数民族人口13万。为解决高中教育发展的瓶颈问题，永胜县

人民政府决定新建第四中学。2007年9月，学校主体工程竣

工，首届学生开学。

2010年9月，办学规模达40个教学班，在校学生近2100

Yongsheng No.4 High School,built in 2007,is a high standard school.
