4-Step Plan•Let’s Pile Everything Together.•4-Step Plan: List, Prioritize, Estimate, Timed events go first.

4-Step Plan•Step 1: List• Create a list of all of the things that you need/want to do.• Be sure to include information about time and place of events.

•Step 2: Prioritize• Figure out which tasks you must accomplish, which you could get done another day, which tasks are for fun…

• Example: Prioritize the following• Take a nap• Clean my room• Study for a test• Talk on the phone.

4-Step Plan• Step 3: Estimate• Figure out how long each task will take including

travel time, prep time, and clean-up. Be realistic.

• Step 4: Timed events go first• Schedule your timed events first and fit your non-

timed events in around them that way you ensure that you meet all of your obligations.

• Complete SH 37-38

Word to the wise• You will be put in a group and given a set of letters. For each letter write down a term related to the study skills unit.

• Rules• 1: the words must be related to the unit• 2: the words must be real. Be creative, but make

sure you are using real words.

• Examples O = Oxygen (you breath in to manage stress P = pretzelizing (no matter how much you think it describes a yoga pose, this is not a word).

• Scoring: 1pt = short words 2pts = 5 or more letter words

Who Dunnit?• Each group is now a team of investigators trying to crack a case. There was a robbery. Someone locked the cafeteria and took the key. Until the key is found, there will be no lunch served ever again!

• As I read the suspects statements, fill out SH 39 for each suspect.

• After recording all of the suspects information, you will have 5 minutes to solve the case. Write you group name and answer on a scratch piece of paper and turn it in. Groups who answer correctly will receive 5 points.
