summer 2019 new arrivals Latest fabrics for the hospitality sector On-trend colours for hotels, restaurants and cruise ships Emsdetten, 20 June Updated classics to a new plain-coloured decorative fabric: drapilux, the German textile manufacturer, has launched new fabrics in a trendy range of colours. While article 189 and 195 are ideal for high-end hotels and nursing care establishments, article 180 – featuring a denim look – is all the rage in hotels, cafes and restaurants catering to a younger audience. Dimout article 177 is also perfect on cruise ships. Article 195: fashionable contrast for windows Alternating wide stripes in contrasting colours create a special effect with this decorative fabric. There are the “in” colours of curry, powder pink or coral as well as classic aqua or cool grey shades on the one hand, which are offset by muted grey and natural tones on the other. This fabric is available in eight colourways. Consequently, curtains fit perfectly into the colour world of a modern interior design but sets bright accents at the same time. “Another highlight of this item is that all the colourways have been produced on a white warp”, said designer Kirstin Herrmann. “This means that our customers can still implement their ideas even with relatively small amounts of fabric.” Page 1/9 schönknecht : kommunikation Stadtdeich 3 20097 Hamburg T (040) 30 38 26 - 70 F (040) 30 38 26 - 74 [email protected] www.schoenknecht-kommunikation.de

Latest fabrics for the hospitality sector On-trend colours for hotels, restaurants and cruise ships

Emsdetten, 20 June ● Updated classics to a new plain-coloured decorative                     fabric: drapilux, the German textile manufacturer, has launched new                 fabrics in a trendy range of colours. While article 189 and 195 are ideal for                             high-end hotels and nursing care establishments, article 180 – featuring a                     denim look – is all the rage in hotels, cafes and restaurants catering to a                             younger audience. Dimout article 177 is also perfect on cruise ships.

Article 189: adds glamour to any room

The new drapilux article 189 creates a pleasant atmosphere thanks to its                       modern colour scheme and special weaving technique. The elegance is                   enhanced using on-trend colours such as curry, aqua, olive, powder pink and                       coral. The ground shades, by contrast, have been kept neutral, thereby instilling                       a certain coolness to the design. This elegant decorative fabric has been created                         with the so-called Scherli technique, whereby additional effect threads are                   woven in according to a pattern. Fibres that are not interwoven hang loosely on                           the rear side of the fabric and are sheared after weaving (Swiss term: Scherli).                           The sheared weft threads consist of filament yarn which is distinguishable by                       means of its characteristic shine compared to the matt background, thus                     creating a large pattern (repeat height 116 cm x 140 cm width). Two overlapping                           rectangles are made up of shimmering, woven dots using the Scherli technique.

Article 180: on-trend denim

No matter if it is a Roman shade or a cushion cover: drapilux article 180 will attract many customers thanks to its soft feel and the range of fashionable colours   © drapilux

This new plain-coloured decorative fabric, article 180, comes in a denim look, soft                         feel and is available in a range of modern colours. Among the 32 colours, there                             are different shades of trendy aqua, olive, turmeric, orange, vermillion and                     powder pink, enhanced by an extensive range of 14 natural and grey shades,                         creating pure, contemporary elegance. The twill weave – a weave typical for denim      fabrics – creates a melange effect. A great side effect of this kind of manufacturing is that virtually any colour can be produced in relatively small quantities according to customers’ wishes.

Article 177: a classic fabric in a new outfit  drapilux article 177 03: block stripes with lots of colours  © drapilux

“This ceiling-high, timeless dimout fabric is the next generation of a classic fabric                         which, at first glance, appears modest, but gives way to multi-coloured, filigree                       block stripes on a closer look”, stated Kirstin Herrmann, Head of the drapilux                         design studio. Four colours have been woven in, yet eight colours are visible. The                           secret behind this is that every colour has been combined with another one in a                             stripe, but also appears as a colour in its own right. The repeat pattern is about                               30 cm in width, so that this fabric is also perfect for small windows such as those                                 often found on cruise ships.
