Subjects & Predicates

Every complete sentence has two parts: subject and

predicate

• The subject is the who (or what) the sentence is about.

• The predicate tells what the subject does.

Judy and her dog run on the beach every

day.• Who? • What do they do?

Judy and her dog

run on the beach everyday.

EXAMPLE:

• Ask what does it do?• Find the verb (action or
