EXPECTATIONS

• Provide for the safety and security of students at all times

• Supervision

• Management

• Teach from provided lesson plans

• Check-in

• Provide classroom management

• Recognize positive behavior

• Correct/redirect negative behavior

• Maintain the dignity of the student

• Provide supervision for lunch, bus, assembly, recess, etc.

EXPECTATIONS

• Prepare attendance reports and provide lunch counts

• Follow crisis management procedures

• Use technology appropriately

• Check-in with office during teacher plan

• Provide written feedback to the teacher about the day

• Provide feedback to the office about the day

• NEVER leave your class unattended or your students

unsupervised

PAY AND BENEFITS

• Substitutes are paid $130 per day

• Long-term subs (10+ consecutive days) are paid $150 per day

• Paraprofessional subs are paid $110 per day for a licensed

teacher and $88 if not fully licensed

• Pay period is from the 26th – 25th of the month.

• Direct deposits are made on the 10th of the month following

the end of the pay period

• May participate in PD and receive PDC points

• Sub may receive credit for subbing, if hired as a teacher.

• The professional work day is 8 hours

PROCEDURES

• Teacher absences are recorded in Aesop

• Substitutes should regularly check for available assignments

• Please call the school office if you will be late

• Substitute teachers are asked to be available whenever

possible to accept assignments

• Elementary report time – 7:45 (school starts at 8:05)

• Middle School report time – 7:45 (school starts at 8:05)

• High School report time – 7:45 (school starts at 8:00)

OTHER

• Know applicable district policies and the handbook

• Get to know the principals – they are an integral

component of our hiring process.

• We value our substitutes tremendously and hire our best

for teaching positions.
