Success Story of EastEssence's Donation Camp Held during Eid in 2014
EastEssence.com, the popular online shopping portal of Islamic clothesbelieves that there is much more that they can do than just producingand selling clothes. To make the holy month of Ramadan special for thedeprived, EastEssence encouraged donation of food and clothes throughthe donation camps that were held in Michigan, Mexico, Pennsylvania,Palo Alto and Chicago. This attempt of sharing love and spreadinghope to the needy was praised by one and all.
50 volunteer sisters from Pennsylvania Eid Distribution, Culver City, AlAqsa IslamicSociety AlAqsa Masjid, Norristown Islamic Society, AnNoor Masjid and The Foundationfor Islamic Education Villanova Masjid contributed immensely and handed over variousapparels including Abayas to the sisters belonging to indigent families. Some of the sistershave shared their thoughts about the drive. Here is what some sisters had to say aboutEastEssence's initiative.
Zeretta (Zariayt) appreciated the thought and said, “On behalf of all who benefited from yourgenerosity during the blessed month of Ramadan, we would like to say thank youEastEssence!”
Sister Hebatallah, a volunteer expressed her joy of giving and this is what she had to say“All the sisters from all the Masjids were very, very, very happy to receive the Abayas. Theyall expressed how beautiful they are and love the designs and colors. I cannot tell you howmany hugs I received and how many ladies had teary eyes as they opened the brand newAbayas! Some even said that this is the first time for them to wear an Abaya that has notbeen passed down to them by someone else! It made me feel so humble and so gracious toAllah for letting me be a small part of their joyful experience, Al Hamdulillah.”
The owner/founder of Muslimahs Covered With Care, Tanya Cantu, was proud to be a partof the drive and blessed all those who participated as well as those were benefited from thecamp. She sent her blessing across by saying,“Jazaki Allahu Khairan to the East Essenceteam for your support, May Allah reward you all immensely, Ameen.”
Little acts of kindness can bring a smile on the faces of the deprived. EastEssence restoresthe faith in humanity through the giving back programs it organizes from time to time. Thevaluable contribution of each volunteer was valued and the organization thanked everyonefor their immense contribution in making the donation camp a success.
