EMERGENCY CONTACT

Although it is rare, there has been the odd occasion when family of an awardee has had to contact them in an emergency. There is no working telephone at the venue itself and in most instances due to the location of the campsite mobiles are rarely in range at any given location within the grounds.

In case of an emergency, Committee Members can be contacted on the following numbers: Committee Chair: Paul Valente Ph: (M) 0405 640805 Committee member: Rick Henke (M) 0401 984784

They will be able to travel to the venue and/or can contact the Seminar Administrators on your behalf.

Depending on the nature of the described emergency, return contact may firstly be by the seminar administrator should it be felt an assessment to check on authenticity of the emergency is justified.

CONDITIONS OF ATTENDANCE

When you accepted the sponsorship to attend R.Y.L.A you agreed to abide by a basic code of behaviour.

A RYLA seminar is not only training, it is an exercise in integrated social living with other people for a period of 7 days.

It therefore requires a basic but firm code of behaviour fairly and equitably enforced to ensure the seminar is a success for everyone involved. As educated youth we expect all participants to maintain their own behaviour within the code guidelines. However should this not occur the Seminar Administrator will exercise authority in accordance with Rotary and District Committee policy, including expulsion from the seminar.

The code does involve some sacrifice of individual liberties, but it is only in this way the full rewarding potentialities of social interactive living can be developed and maintained in harmony and produce an ideal learning atmosphere.

CODE OF BEHAVIOUR

Sleeping quarters are out of bounds to all members of the opposite gender at all times during the seminar.

Neither alcohol nor any other form of drug is to be consumed or used at any time by any person attending the seminar including the host club dinner.

Mobile Telephones are banned from use at the seminar if you bring one with you it must be surrendered to the Administrator on arrival. (Special permission to phone home can be arranged)

Page 5: Successfull applicant letter 2014 (2)

Awardees are not permitted to leave the seminar site without the express consent of the Administrator. To do so means expulsion, no excuses accepted.

Persons not enrolled in the RYLA seminar are not permitted at the site at any time except those associated with presentation of the seminar.

Everyone must attend breakfast on time each day because this is the first organisational session of the daily seminar program.

Attendance at all seminar sessions is compulsory for all.

Respect the opinion and privacy of others; they are as important as you.

Assist in the seminar program when requested to do so including the maintenance and cleanliness of seminar site at all times

Obey the published campsite rules at all times.

All personal information disclosed by any one during the seminar will be held in strict confidence. Any breach will be in violation of the Federal Privacy Act.
