GeneralSuction lines are user-friendly preassembled units forconnecting the suction side of a metering pump to themedium to be supplied. The main functional element isa foot valve which prevents the primed quantity fromreturning into the tank and which helps to ensure accurateoperation of the metering pump or makes metering ofsmall quantities possible at all. To protect the valves, asuction filter is provided.

Flexible or rigid suction lines adjustable to the requiredlength are available. They can also be supplied withintegrated level controls for alarm signaling andprotection against dry operation. The level probe in theform of a Reed contact is triggered by the magnet of afloat. The contact is made with an increasing level. Forversions SA and SG, the break point is approx. 50 mmabove the lowest suction point, for versions NB, ND andGA, it is about 30 mm. The alarm signaling equipmentavailable for some versions switches about 60 mm abovethe break point. Thus it is possible to provide newchemical in time before the pump is stopped to beprotected against dry operation due to an empty tank.Pure level controls based on the same function are alsoavailable. These level controls are equipped with a d 3.5jack and can be connected directly to the solenoidmetering pump without interposing a level relay.

Suction lines for lost (non-returnable) containersEspecially for lost containers with screw cover (K-60thread), two types of suction lines are availabe. Type GAconsists of a suction pipe without valve and a simple lowlevel indication, and type GF-2 is fitted with two floats foralarm signaling and low level indication, a suction pipewith foot valve and two return connections for the outletof the relief valve and a possibly connected automaticdegassing device. The lengths of these two versions canbe adjusted so that they can be used for different sizesof containers.

The suction lines and level controls can be supplied inacid and akali-proof plastic materials.

For special applications, it is also possible to providefoot valves separately with cemented, threaded or tubingconnections.Technical data
