Now-a-day Sevilla is a city with an intense nightlife that is experienced out in the open, thanks to the mild, local climate. The city was founded by the Romans and the Muslims ruled Sevilla from the year 711 until 1248 leaving indelible marks in the city. The height of Seville's splendor came with the Discovery of America as during the 16th and 17th centuries its port had the monopoly on trade with the overseas colonies. The intense trading activity in Seville during this period gave rise to an urban layout filled with small palaces, noble houses, churches and convents.

Flamenco is a genuine Spanish art. It exists in three forms: Cante, the song, Baile, the dance, and Guitarra, guitar playing. Gypsies are very often named as their fathers, and at least it can be taken for certain that they played an important part in its creation. But also the popular songs and dances of Andalusia have influenced early Flamenco considerably. Certainly there were other influences that, directly or indirectly, influenced Flamenco.

Return to hotel on own (easily by taxi) • Accommodation in Madrid: Hotel Vincci Capitol (Double Room) Day 9: Full day excursion to Toledo by high speed train Toledo is known as the “city of the three cultures”, because Christians, Arabs and Jews lived here together for centuries. Toledo preserves behind its walls an impressive artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues, like Sta. María la Blanca Synagogue, el Transito Synagogue (closed on Mondays), and the Cathedral. This great diversity of artistic styles makes the old quarter a museum, which has led to it being declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. During the tour you will also learn about the Mudejar style, unique to the Hispanic world. Learning about El Greco and visiting some of his master works, like “The Burial of the Count of Orgaz” at Sto. Tomé Church, will be another essential part of the day.
