    bechangedeasilybyauser.Theusermayaddtext,images,links,audio,orvideotoatheir

    wikipages.Assuch,wikisbecomeexcellentplacesforstudentstosharetheirworkwith

    youandothers.

    Lesson/UnitPlans

    Ifyourstudentscreateindividuallessonplansorunitplans,awikiisanoutstandingplace

    fortheircreation.Ratherthanusingawordprocessingdocument,studentscancreatea

    wikiandincludeallthepartsoftheplanyourequire.However,thestrengthofusinga

    wikiismulti-fold.

    First,studentscanaddimportantlinkstotheirplanthatmaybefollowedratherthansimplytypingtheURLintoadocument.

    Second,studentscanaddallformsofmultimediademonstratingeffectiveuseofavarietyoftoolstohelpstudentslearn.Therefore,youcaneasilyviewthetypesofmaterialsthestudentsareproposingtousewiththeirstudents.

    Third,studentscanincludedownloadablelessonworksheetsontheirwiki. Fourth,studentscaneasilysharetheirworkwithothersintheclass,withouthaveto

    payforcopies,bypostingthewikisURLtoaBlackboarddiscussionforum.

    Fifth,youcanmonitoreachstudentsprogressbycheckinghisorherplansandwikihistoryregularly.Bydoingthis,youcangiveassistancetostudentswhomightnot

    knowtheyneedit.

    Sixth,youdonotneedtolugaroundhugestacksofpaperstograde;youcanaccesstheirfinalplanonlineandgradeitusingyourrubricorotherassessmenttools.
