DESCRIPTION
Presentation given by Suhrud Mandal at CSR Pune and Net Impact networking event (2011) to enable CSR leaders and professionals to learn, network and contribute to social organization. Representative: Dr. Kalyani Mandke Suhrud Mandal was established in 1973 to empower and enrich the lives of hearing impaired. Every year 25,000 children are born with hearing impairment in India. No hearing means, no language, no academics, limited financial independence and poor quality of life. Suhrud Mandal wishes to transform their lifestyle, started with 5 children and now has 500 children with hearing impairment enrolled in four of their schools. • There are nearly 2,00,000 individuals with HI in Maharashtra state .
• Only 11,000 children are enrolled in special schools.
• 10,000 enrolled in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan

Mobile Learning
• Developing reading-writing skills through m-learning
• 500 words/phrases will be adequate to develop functional literacy
• It will be in the form of script, visuals, and sign language
• Program will be based on competency and skills
• We need technical and financial support to develop this program
