How did you use media technologies in the Planning,

Research, Construction & Evaluation?

Page 2: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Throughout our media A2 project we used many

different media technologies in our Planning, Research, Construction & Evaluation stages which we are going to state throughout this

PowerPoint

RESEARCH…

Page 4: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

YouTube• We used youtube in order to use the embedded links; so that the links will

play straight from our website. We used youtube for analysis of music video, analysis of music video structure and for influential videos.

• We used youtube for the analysis of music videos as we felt that it was easier to access these music videos through this medium.

• We used it for music video structure analysis and found influential videos, the use of youtube enabled us to find these videos effectively and with a certain degree of ease.

Page 5: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

GarageBand

• We used garage band for analysis of music video and analysis of structure.

• We used this as we believed it is an easier way to present our work and we found it to be more effective.

• We used garage band to record our podcasts, this went hand in hand with out YouTube videos as our audio podcasts fully explained the point we were trying to make.

Page 6: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Camstudio

• The reason for using cam studio was in order to show our website analysis as it was able to show both audio and video.

• We felt that cam studio will be the best way to portray our analysis of websites.

• Also, by using cam studio we can reflect on our analysis of websites when creating our own.

Page 7: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

iMovie HD

• We used I-Movie HD to construct our own videos in terms of star image and development and also in relation to our analysis of theories.

• This software was effective by constructing our analysis through the use of effects and transitions made our analysis entertaining.

• Also, it made our analysis easy to interpret.

Page 8: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Video Camera

• We used a video camera to film our initial planning because this would allow us to easily view our ideas and get all points across in a fast, easy and effect manner.

Page 9: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Website Links

• These were used to create hyperlinks to allow people to easily access the pages in which we had gained our research and information from.

Planning…

Page 11: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Digital Camera

• We used a digital camera to take pictures of our props and locations in order to filter out the unsatisfactory from those that we liked.

• The clarity of a digital camera is of a better quality than a phone because of the difference in mega pixels and therefore provides a better picture to assess.

Page 12: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Email

• We contacted many music institutions and artists through the use of email.

• This is a more common and easier method to reach these companies and artists.

• Furthermore, it is a quick method which will allow instant conformation.

Page 13: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Mobile Phone

• We have used mobile’s in other ways apart from calling our artist and orginising locations.

• This is the quickest method to reach our designated targets. However, at times we found it hard to use the such as in the subway where we were unable to gain reception

Page 14: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Coral Paint Shop Pro

• In order to effectively resize the costume planning pictures, we used this programme, we found hardly any problems using it.

Page 15: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Microsoft Picture Manager

• We used this during the storyboard process, as we had to scan storyboard pictures and place them upon our websites. This was a easy to use process, and we did not find any problems whilst using it.

Construction…

Page 17: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Video camera

• This is the integral part of the creation of the music video, as without this we would be unable to film. However, one such problem that arose is that the camera quality was not sufficient to our needed standards.

Page 18: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Adobe Premier Pro 2.0 • This is another key and integral part of the

construction of the music video as we have edited on Adobe, which we found to be a better programme than IMovie HD. However one such problem that arose from our use of Adobe Premier is that it was a very complexed programme which took us a lot of time and effort to understand. We used this for our rough shots, final product, test footage and editing.

Page 19: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Digital Camera

• We used a digital camera in order to take photographs from filming. These photo’s helped us to evaluate whether certain lighting and effects, such as sepia tone or monochrome would look good, during our editing process.

Page 20: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Adobe Flash - CS4

• We used Flash CS4 in order to create a website for our band, this proved a long and arduous task as we had to get accustomed to the demands of the application. However, we eventually were able to get to grips with the programme and created a effective website.

Page 21: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Adobe Photoshop

• During the construction of the digipak, we used Adobe Photoshop, and found it to be a very usefull and effective method in editing our pictures for the digipak. This application took us less time to get accustomed to as we had previous knowledge about it.

Final Product…

Page 23: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

YouTube Upload

• We use youtube in order to upoload our final product, this is because youtube allows the audience to feedback easier and more effectively, as it is accessable by everyone at any time. However, the music video, was a lower quality than what we needed, and therefore on the whiteboard screen at school it lagged often.

Page 24: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Facebook Upload

• This has been utilised in order to access those audience members that are on this social netweorking site. The use of this is much similar to that of the youtube upload, as we needed to get audience feedback,

Page 25: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Adobe Flash - CS4

• We had to used Adobe Flash CS4, in order to upload our website to www.magiclab.co.uk this task was less arduous and did not require much time. However, we had to get a sponsership from a company called 3XL in order to gain subsription for 6months to this site.

Page 26: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Webcam

• We used webcam in order to film ourselves exhibiting our final digipak, this was a quick and easy process however, the camera quality was not great and therefore it may be hard for the audience to view it.

EVALUATION

Page 28: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Garageband

• This is a integral part of the creation of our evaluation and aided greatly in answering question 1 and 2. This is because we used podcasts as the primary method in aswering these questions.

Page 29: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Adobe Premier Pro 2.0

• We used this programme as a method of editing our three media texts, the music video, digipak and website, and placing them on the side by side by using split screen. This enabled the garageband for question 2 to be played over this video that had been created.

Page 30: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

I Movie HD

• We used this programme in order to get the audience research and their feedback, which was edited together by using I Movie HD. This was a easier and faster process than if we had edited on Adobe Premier 2.0, as we also didn’t need some of the effects that are on Premier 2.0

Page 31: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Video Camera

• We used a video camera in order to film the audience feedback, this was a time consuming process as we had to play the video to people individually and as groups, and it took a lot of time to play the music video, time and time again.

Page 32: Sukh Evaluation Question[1]

Cam Studio

• This programme was used sparingly during the evaluation process. We only used it to scroll down the website and put the clip into Adobe Premier 2.0, and put it as one of the three split screens.
