Please VOTE YES to update two important amendments!

The Board of Trustees is seeking your endorsement of two proposed amendments to the Association’s

Declaration whose purpose is to increase funding for the existing working capital fund and permit the

use of modern electronic transmission methods for the Association’s business.

Capital Contribution - An update to this amendment would require at settlement on the sale of any

home/lot for the purchaser to pay the Association a one-time assessment for the working capital fund

in the amount of $225 or 25% of the annual general assessment, whichever is greater. The Board is

asking for your support to restore funding into the working capital funds and permit capital improve-

ments to be implemented throughout the community. This amendment will not increase costs to any

current member.

Electronic Transmission of Notices/Voting – This amendment provides a new section to the General

Provisions titled “Use of Technology”. The purpose of the amendment is to permit the use of the most

advanced technology available in implementing the provisions of any declaration, or bylaw provision

or any provisions of this chapter dealing with notices, signatures, votes, consents or approvals. The

amendment restricts transmissions only through means providing sufficient security, reliability, identi-

fication, and verifiability are maintained and recorded. Implementation would permit improved cost

savings, increase timely information distribution, and modernize the Association’s e-business initia-

tives.

The Board of Trustees encourages all Members to VOTE YES for the two proposed amendments. You

may cast your vote while at the community center for new pool passes or by responding to volunteers

in your neighborhood to collect signatures.

If you would like more information on the two amendments please contact our Community Manage-

ment Staff, Bob Webster (703-266-2020) or Luigi Solloso (703-266-2044), for more details.

It’s the Law!!!

It has come to our attention that there has been an increase in doggy pollution in Sully Station II. On behalf of

Sully Station II Community Association we would like to remind everyone that it is against the law to not pick

up after your dogs. According to

Virginia Law Section 41.1-2-6. Animals causing unsanitary conditions:

It shall be unlawful for the owner of any animal or animals to keep such animal or animals in such a

manner as to cause unsanitary conditions. The owner or custodian of any dog shall be responsible for

the removal of excreta deposited by such dog on the property of another, including public places. (26-

04-41.1.)

Dog owners are out in the morning before the workday begins and again in the evening. Most have something

in common, they carry a bag. These conscientious pet owners take their waste-filled bags and put them in their

household trash or flush the contents in the toilet.

What about the not-so-conscientious pet owners? The Center for Watershed Protection refers to them as “bad

dog walkers” and claims their numbers are 16 million in the United States.

Pet waste is ugly and smelly. But even worse, it poses a health risk to pets, bodies of water, and people. Pet

waste left on sidewalks, streets, trails, and grassy areas is immediately flushed into the nearest waterway when

it rains. Storm drains lead to lakes or streams that ultimately lead to the Occoquan Reservoir and the Potomac

Rivers, our drinking water supply! Even if you can’t see the water near you, the pet waste goes into a storm

drain where it travels untreated. Pet waste may carry disease-causing organisms, which make

water unsafe for swimming and more costly to treat for

drinking.

Pet owners who violate the County’s pooper scooper

law may incur a fine up to $250.

Zodiac

Aries, take a bow. You're the first sign of the zodiac so it shouldn't come as any surprise

then that you’re a born leader. You shine brightly, taking the initiative in everything you

do and people see that in you immediately. There are no half-measures with you. You

have that same fearlessness and certainly aren't afraid to explore the unknown in life.

You’re lively, energetic and daring, and a fighter too. You crave adventure, and love to

travel the world. You're a pioneer, and have the ability to lead. People admire your

independence and freedom of expression in everything you do.

You could opt for work where you are your own boss, because you hate being told what

to do. You know how to make your own decisions and create your own destiny. There

might be plenty of stress in treading this path but at least it’s pressure on your own terms.

Achieving your goals is important to you. You know exactly what you want, and have no

problem going after your goals. Your style is brisk, edgy and uncompromising. People who

associate with you soon learn that they have to keep up — if they don’t, they'll soon fall by the wayside.

You have an instinctive understanding of what has to be done. There’s no procrastination in your manner- you hate laziness. You accept all

experiences as a challenge, something to be jumped into with passion and excitement. It's all one big learning curve for an Aries.

You have ample confidence and self-assurance. These characteristics are at the heart of your nature and are among your greatest strengths. Just

remember that sometimes this comes across as being overly assertive, perhaps even self-centered.

Your freedom-loving spirit means you like having space to get on with your work on your own terms. This can make it hard for you to be at your

best in a team environment — some people misinterpret your energy and focus as insensitivity, even rudeness. You could try to make an effort,

when you are working in a group, to let your co-workers see your unselfish and non-egotistical side.

You always prefer to get on with the job rather than to sitting around waiting for something to happen. This means that you are a little impatient

with people who work at a slower pace. You can counteract this by remembering to relax and focus on some give and take — this will be an

important challenge and life lesson for you.

You are impulsive yet will come up with all sorts of brilliant ideas. Occasionally however, you will occasionally get things wrong, too. Luckily, you

aren’t afraid of making mistakes and learning your life lessons the hard

way. (There’s Aries' fearlessness kicking in again!)

All these traits that reflect tons of energy, enthusiasm and confidence

but you are also misunderstood by others. Some will say you are

tactless and indifferent when they offer you advice. From your point

of view, it’s a matter of remembering that not everyone is as quick-

witted and capable as you; just be aware that you need to be gentle

and patient when dealing with weakness or slowness in others.

It would be a good idea to pay more attention to detail, rather than

just focusing on the big picture, which is what you instinctively do —

this would help bring out your talents.

Try to accommodate the different types of people you have to deal

with. If you can learn to balance your patience and sensitivity with

your courage and determination, you will discover your life can be

magically transformed and spiritualized.

In this life you are destined to take on a leadership position.

Remember, that while you are tackling your responsibilities, you are

also setting an example for others.

If you can tap into the gentler and cooler side of your character, it will

temper your passion and energy superbly, and you will be much loved

and looked up to by family, friends and work associates.

April is commonly associated with the season of spring in parts of the Northern

Hemisphere and autumn in parts of the Southern Hemisphere, where it is the seasonal

equivalent to October in the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa.

April starts on the same day of the week as July in all years, and January in leap years. April

ends on the same day of the week as December every year.

The Romans gave this month the Latin name Aprilis but the derivation of this name is uncertain. The traditional

etymology is from the verb aperire, "to open", in allusion to its being the season when trees and flowers begin to "open",

which is supported by comparison with the modern Greek use of ἁνοιξις (anoixis) (opening) for spring. Since some

of the Roman months were named in honor of divinities, and as April was sacred to the goddess Venus,

her Veneralia being held on the first day, it has been suggested that Aprilis was originally her month Aphrilis, from

her equivalent Greek goddess name Aphrodite (Aphros), or from the Etruscan name Apru. Jacob Grimm suggests the

name of a hypothetical god or hero, Aper orAprus.

April's birthstone is the diamond.

The birth flower is typically listed as either the Daisy (Bellis perennis) or the Sweet Pea.

The zodiac signs for the month of April are Aries (until April 20)

and Taurus (April 21 onwards).

Easter Deviled Eggs Recipe by NancyClancy

12 large eggs

hot sauce

1/4 cup creamy salad dressing

(such as Miracle Whip®)

1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

salt and ground black pepper to

taste

4 drops red, green, blue food

coloring for each egg

3 cups water

Directions

Place eggs into a large saucepan, cover with cold water, and bring to a

boil. Let eggs boil for 3 minutes; turn off heat, cover pot, and let eggs

cook in hot water for at least 20 minutes. Drain and cover eggs with

cold water. Peel cooled eggs.

Cut hard-cooked eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks; mash

yolks in a bowl with creamy salad dressing, salt, black pepper, hot

sauce, and dry mustard until smooth.

Place red, blue, and green food coloring into 3 different bowls and add

about 1 cup water to each bowl. Steep 8 egg white halves in each bowl, tinting the egg whites pink, light blue, and green. If color is too

pale, add more coloring to bowls. Drain colored egg whites on paper

chill before serving, at least 30 minutes.

Easter Chick Deviled Eggs Recipe by rachelu

12 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard

1 dill pickle, finely chopped

1 tablespoon prepared horseradish, or

to taste

1 teaspoon pickle juice

salt and ground black pepper to taste

1 carrot, cut into rounds

Slice through the top 1/3 of each egg, ensuring some of the yolk is

included in the slice. Carefully remove the egg yolk from the bottom

portion of the egg using a spoon and transfer to a bowl.

Mix egg yolks, mayonnaise, mustard, pickle, horseradish, pickle juice,

salt, and pepper together in a bowl. Fill a piping bag or a plastic bag with a corner snipped with the egg yolk mixture. Pipe egg yolk mixture into

the hollowed egg whites creating the 'chick', ensuring there is enough

filling to add 'eyes' and a 'beak.'

Slice small wedges out of the carrot rounds creating 12 'beaks'. Add a

'beak' to each 'chick'.

Slice olive pieces into small squares to be used as 'eyes.' Add 2 'eyes' to

each 'chick.' Place the egg tops onto each 'chick' to look like a chick

peaking out of the egg.

physically move it, which leads to amazing sensory fun for the kids that they’ll love!

6. Be sure to cover the eggs good with

Sharpie Tie Dye Easter Eggs

Materials:

Eggs ~ Make sure they are room

temperature

Bright permanent Sharpie markers~

as many colors as you have.

Rubbing alcohol

Tray to contain the mess

Eye dropper

A well ventilated area!

1. Color your design with sharpie

marker straight onto your room

temp egg. We found that the more colorful your design the better the end result. I would suggest fully

covering your whole egg in sharpie markers.

2. After you have your design, slowing drip rubbing alcohol onto the egg. The colors with mix, blend and drip leaving behind a beautiful

pattern. No two eggs will come out looking the same.

3. Let your egg dry and it is all ready to display. Make sure that you don’t eat these eggs, this is for decoration only!

**Cover your egg completely with Sharpie marker ~ the more

colorful the egg the better the result.**

Golden Glitter Slime

Materials:

1.5 cups Sta Flo Liquid Starch

2 5oz bottles of Elmer's Clear Glue

1. You add those two ingredients to a bowl and

mix. 2. It takes awhile for the slime to get, well,

slime-y. There's a long period that lasts several minutes where it's just stringy and

gross, and you might feel like you did some-

thing wrong - but that's just the way it works.

3. Keep mixing and in a few minutes, it will all gel and look like the finished

product. 4. You can add liquid watercolors, food coloring, paint, glitter - really what-

ever you want to the slime to make it pretty.
