Es para mi una satisfacción poder presentaros el programa oficial del próximo Encuentro Internacional de Jefes de Capellanes Militares, que se celebrará (D.m.) del 1 al 5 de febrero de 2010 en Madrid.

Con la conformidad de la Subsecretaría de Defensa y el apoyo del Estado Mayor de la Defensa, espe-ramos poder ofreceros unas jornadas de estudio y reflexión sobre “El Hecho Religioso en las Fuerzas Armadas. Libertad y diversidad”.

Estamos convencidos que, dentro de la diversidad de religiones y creencias, el papel del Capellán Cast-rense es un “plus de humanidad”, no sólo para nuestros militares, sino para la sociedad entera, a la que las Fuerzas Armadas debe servir.

La experiencia y el trabajo de anteriores Conferencias, junto con el trato personal que muchos de vo-sotros mantenéis, servirán para alcanzar los objetivos de IMCCC Madrid 2010. Junto con la hospitalidad española, que ofrece la ciudad de Madrid, contad desde este momento con mi amistad y cercanía.

With great satisfaction I can present you by now the official Web of the next International Conference of Chief Chaplains, which will take place from 1st of February until 5th of February 2010.

Agreeing with the Sub-Secretary of Defence and the support of the Head Quarter of the Defence, we hope to offer you a time of study and reflection about the subject: “The Religious fact and Armed Forces, liberty and variety”

We are convinced that – in the limits of the different religions and convictions – the role of the chaplain represents a “plus of humanity”, not only for our soldiers, but also for the whole society, which has to be protected and served by our Military Forces.

The experience and the results of anterior Conferences and, at the same time, the personal relations established by many of you, will help us to realize the claims of IMCCC Madrid 2010.

Madrid will offer you the well known hospitality, and I beg you to accept , just from this moment, my friendship and company.

USEUCOM HISTORIA DE LA CONFERENCIA INTERNA-CIONAL DE JEFES DE CAPELLANES MILITARESEn febrero de 1990, la Oficina Superior de Capellanes de USEUCOM coordinó la Conferencia de Jefes de Capellanes de la OTAN en Stuttgart, Alemania. El propósito era proporcionar un foro para el diálogo y la discusión para mejorar la interoperabilidad y fomentar la cooperación y comunicación entre los capellanes nacionales durante las operaciones conjuntas de la OTAN.

La segunda Conferencia se celebró en 1991, en la Iglesia, del Ejército Británico del Rin, Lubbecke, en la República Federal de Alemania. En la Conferencia, los participantes consideraron expandir el foro e incluir Naciones del antiguo Pacto de Varsovia. Hungría, Rumania, Checoslovaquia y Polonia envi-aron observadores. El título de la Conferencia fue cambiado a “Conferencia de Jefes de Capellanes de Norteamérica y Europa”.

La Conferencia de 1992 que se celebró en Roma fue la primera Conferencia anual celebrada fuera de Alemania. Fue patrocinada por USEUCOM y organizada conjuntamente con el Ministerio de Defensa de Italia. Este modelo de USEUCOM como patrocinador y organizador con el Ministerio de Defensa de la Nación como anfitrión, ha continuado a lo largo de las conferencias posteriores. En 2003 el título de la conferencia fue cambiado a “Conferencia Internacional de Jefes de Capellanes Militares”

USEUCOM INTERNATIONAL CHIEFS OF CHAPLAINS CONFERENCE HISTORYIn February 1990, USEUCOM Command Chaplain’s Office coordinated a NATO Chiefs of Chaplains Conference in Stuttgart, Germany. The purpose was to provide a forum for dialogue and discussion to enhance interoperability and foster cooperation and communication among national element chaplains during combined NATO operations.The second conference was held in 1991, at Church House, British Army of the Rhine, Lubbecke, in the Federal Republic of Germany. At that conference, participants discussed expanding the forum to include nations of the former Warsaw Pact. Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, and Poland sent observers. The conference title was changed to the “North American/European Chiefs of Chaplains Conference.”The 1992 conference held in Rome was the first annual conference to be held outside of Germany. It was sponsored by USEUCOM and co-hosted with the Ministry of Defense of Italy. This model of USEUCOM as sponsor and co-host with the Ministry of Defense of the nation in which the confer-ence is held serving as co-host has continued throughout the subsequent conferences. The confer-ence title was changed to the “International Military Chiefs of Chaplains Conference” in 2003.The full list conferences include:
