Main Task

To get audience feedback on my trailer I used three different types, I sent out a survey on my Facebook and Twitterthen I sent out a WallWisher on my Facebook and Twitter and then finally I interviewed three people from my

target age group.

Page 3: Summary of Audience Feedback

Strengths of the trailer.

From our three audience feedbacks we got to know the strengths of our product.

One over-riding positive from our trailer was the storyline, they said thatit was very good and conventional, they said this was the main reason why it

appealed to the target audience.

They also said that they liked the characters cast and the costume they werewearing. They said it was very conventional and that this made them relate

to the target audience.

Another strength of our trailer was the props used they said it added to thecomical effect of the trailer they said they liked the way the props contrasted

(lightsaber and alcohol)

A strength of our trailer was the use of music throughout, they said thatit is conventional for teen comedies to use upbeat music and they said that

the soundtrack we used fitted in very well with the storyline.

A final strength of our trailer was the comedy involved into it, they said thatthis would make them want to go and see the film and that it is conventionalfor teen comedies to have lots of comedy involved and that we followed this

convention.

‘As they are nerds they are not exactly wearing normal clothing’

Weaknesses of the trailer

As well as positives we also got some constructive feedback on how to improve our trailer.

- One criticism we got was that in our trailer was to introduce our narrative clearerthey said they didn’t really get the plot and that we should include more on the plot. To

conquer this we did improve it and add a new title scene into it to make it clearer.

Another criticism we got was to make it clear to the audience that our nerds wereclearly losers, they said that we should off improved our mise-en-scene.

Another criticism we got was to make the relationship clearer between the nerds to show how good friends they are. They also said to show the relationship between

Eddy and Chloe before the party.

Through our audience feedback they also said to have Adam and George doing something at the party other than drinking they said maybe introduce a girl

to them as well, they said it would be more conventional.

‘maybe be makingthe plot clearer.’

The key feedback we got about our trailer wasthat they liked the plot of the trailer and the

characters casted and their props.

The key weaknesses we received was to makeit clearer in the trailer about our plot and alsoto make the relationship between characters

clearer

Overall, our audience feedback said they likedthe idea of Graduation

Ancillary ProductsAfter completing the feedback on our trailer I then

sent out a Wall Wisher and a survey to get feedbackon my ancillary products. Once again I received goodfeedback on these products and they gave me the

good points of the trailer and how I could improve it.

Page 7: Summary of Audience Feedback

Strengths

The people who completed the audience feedback told me what was the good points onmy ancillary products.

The first point they made was they liked the way the magazine and poster linked togetherfor example they said that the image on the poster relates directly to the trailer (the lightsaber, beers etc.) They also said that the fonts used in the magazine and poster

link together as they are all sans serif. Finally, the colours also links the three productstogether.

Another strength they said about my ancillary products was how it created a ‘house style’ for Graduation. They liked that the colours used throughout the products were

red, black and white as this would make the audience associate these colours with the film. They also said that the use of the same fonts throughout the magazine also creates

a house style. The images also create a house style.

They said that the poster and magazine were very conventional and looked likeprofessional products

Page 8: Summary of Audience Feedback

WeaknessesAs well as positives about my ancillary products we also got criticism and tips

on how to improve my products

One criticism was the image used in the magazine - they said it would of beenbetter if the actor was in costume rather than a suit. They said it is more

conventional for film magazines to depict the actor in costume.

They also said that in the magazine they would of liked to had more coverlines and images. And to make them more interesting. They said they would like them to be

more varied.

In the poster they said they would of liked to have had a better choice of fonts. They would of liked to have seen more variety in fonts and more

text.

Although they said that my poster needed work they said it was betterthan my magazine. They would of wanted to see a better slogan

to attract the audience.

SummaryWe received good amounts of feedback on our ancillary products.

The main strengths they said about the magazine were:- The house style we created throughout the magazine and also also the

fonts we used they said were easy to read.

The weaknesses of the magazine were:- The image, they said that it should of related back to the trailer and

have the actor in character.-Have more variety in coverlines and make them more effective

The main strength of the poster were:- The colours used and the house style created. The images used was

also a mainstrength because it related directly to the trailer.

The main weaknesses of the poster were:There should have been more variety in fonts and the slogan should

have been moreeffective and should of attracted the reader.
