My name is Kurt. Even thoughI have a B.A. degree ineconomics rom Cal, I have

to admit I never used my degree well.

Oh, I made lots o money as a stockbroker and in real estate, butthe drugs I kept puttinginto my body drove medeeper and deeper intoa pit o my own making.

My entire lie hasbeen ocused on makingmoney. Ive had a milliondollars a couple o times and lost it all. Ive always been

a good salesman and an intelligent,hard-working person. But somethingwas always missing somethingimportant. It was God. He was not inmy lie. As a result o my poor choices,I ended up homeless and livingon the streets. I handicappedmysel by my reckless liestyle.

I wash the clothes of thehomeless with a happy heart

Up until now my whole lie has

been about drugs. Today my ocusis on my Savior and how I can beo service to others. Thats whyI consider it my ministry towork in the laundry. Myheart is blessed to knowIm cleaning the clothing osome 70 people each day.It makes me eel good to

see homeless people walk out o thMission wearing clean clothes. I knotheyll receive no love on the streetsAll the more reason to clean their

clothing with love and compassion.As I grow in my aith hereat the Mission, I realize I

continue to need a Savioevery day. Beore I goto sleep each night, Ithank God or bringingme into His old and

into His loving care. I alssay a prayer or you who

donate so much to the Bay Ar

My name is Sai. My daughterand I are at the Bay AreaRescue Mission because wewere desperate. I the Mission hadntopened its doors and its heart to us,hate to think where wed

be today. I know Id beeparated rom my

daughter. Beore wecame here we wereving in Sacramento n a terrible area o townwhere we eared or ourves every day.

It wasnt sae to stepoutside ater 6 p.m. I had to passdrug dealers when I went to workeach morning. Doors were kicked in

nd chaos was the rule o the day.thank God I didnt use drugs ormoke cigarettes even though Satansemptations surrounded us. I praiseesus or his daily protection.

Then one day a loving God guidedour steps to the Bay Area Rescue

Homelessness is not taking a summer vacation in the Bay AreaYou have been a loyal riend during the recent holiday months and

because o your response hundreds o men, women and children continue to

receive physical and spiritual nourishment. Thank you. Were now approaching

the summer months and we need your prayers and support as much now as

during any season o the year.

Mission, where Akeilah and I are gettingreacquainted with our Heavenly Father. Inthe process we are becoming the peopleHe created us to be. Here at the Missionits 24/7 love and compassion. I Im stuck

with any questions at all, counselorsand riends are here to help.

They dont always give methe answers or theanswers I want. Instead,they encourage me towork through my situation

and discover things on myown. This is whats helping

me grow stronger in the Lord.Im blessed to have no stress.

Thank you for your support and

encouragementIve also gone back to school. Istarted with computers, but the classeswere too easy. So I asked God to giveme a greater challenge. Well, He did . . .and now Im beginning my registerednursing program. Im so excited aboutthe opportunities that lie ahead. Butnone o this would have happenedwithout the encouragement and love othe Mission.

I also thankyou or your donations,because without your loving support

who knows where Akeilah and I wouldbe today? I still have a long way to go inmy Christian aith, but Ive made greatprogress along the way. I you ever thinkabout my daughter and me, I hope youllpray we continue to walk in aith andin Gods Word. God bless you!
