Creative Connections Camps

From the rhythmic patterns of Morse code to the polyrhythmic musical traditions of ancient cultures from Pythagoras music of the spheres to the science of sound musical modes and tunings from the aerodynamics of a boomerang to Japanese kites and kotos and so much more

Make creative connections between music math and science

The innovative curriculum developed by Creative Connections Camps emphasizes the conceptual cognitive and creative connections between music math and science of many cultures

Our camps help students discover relationships between subject areas --even areas outside of our math-music-science focus Each day there are plenty of opportunities to develop and use critical thinking skills and experience eureka moments Kids are engaged in activities that present information in creative and personally meaningful ways And that motivates them to learn in camp in school and in life And oh yeah itrsquos so much fun

A babyrsquos first sound is the rhythmic beat of her motherrsquos heart From there itrsquos a (rhythmic) hop skip and jump to pounding pots and pans on the kitchen floor Give just about anyone a drum and see if you can keep them from pounding out a beat Ms Marty brings her authentic African drums to camp along with pictures and artifacts from her travels in Africa Each week will be different with a different focus

Campers can come for one week or all 8 weeks Each day will be filled with music movement arts crafts indoor and outdoor play -- all in Spanish or French

Patricia Bodas (pediatric occupational therapist preschool teacher and Spanish speaker) and Joss Cano (native French speaker percussionist and music teacher) will keep campers active and interested Each week will be different -- though favorite amp familiar activities will tie the weeks together

Campers should dress in comfortable layers so they can run jump spin and climb outside and not be too warm inside

All campers should arrive wearing their favorite sunscreen Please bring a healthy drink and snack for the mid-camp break -- and an extra snack if your camper will be famished by the end of camp

Please note that two of the French camps will be afternoon sessions All others will be morning camps
