July 3 - 6: Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Parks (Single Airmen) Check out some of Wyoming’s greatest treasures. We will be exploring one of the last, nearly intact, natural ecosystems in the Earth’s temperate zone. Activities include hiking into Cascade Canyon past Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point in the shadows of the Grand Tetons, visiting Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, Norris Geyser Basin, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. $40 per person includes transportation, lodging and breakfast during the trip.

July 8: FamCamp Retiree Potluck Join us at FamCamp for sloppy-joes! We’ll provide the main course you bring the side dishes! Pre-register at 773-3874 to let us know what you’ll be bringing! Not a retiree? That’s ok! Join us anyway and say thank you to all those who have served.

July 9: Red White and Balloon Shoot Out at the Archery Range Join us at the Indoor Archery Facility for a patriotic challenge. Alternate shots at balloons - if you miss you’re out. We will have snacks and games. There is a $5 entry fee for participants.

July 11: Join us with your family for a trip to Waterworld! We feature the largest variety of attractions (49) in America; from Wally World for the tots, to Voyage to the Center of the Earth - the ultimate family water adventure. Water World has more family tube rides than any other park in America. Thrill rides are in abundance as well, like the Red Line Speed Slide. Plenty of picnic areas are available, from covered pavilions to beautifully landscaped grass areas. There are three separate Children’s Play Adventures, including the all new Big Top Family Fun Zone. Two new attractions debuted in 2012 including Colorado’s only magnetic water coaster (The Mile High Flyer)! For 2015, get ready to experience the next generation of water attractions with the newest attraction, Warp Speed! We will provide the transportation so you can relax on the bus ride. Fee is $45 for everyone over 40” tall and includes your transportation and admission. Children under 40” are only $10. Cool off this summer with us! Bring lunch or money for food.

July 12: Homebrew 101 at Arts and Crafts Learn the basics of brewing your own beer at home! We will go over cleaning, sanitization, and how to brew a 5 gallon extract kit. Cost is $20 and includes class, samples, lunch and a growler of homebrew to take home!

July 18: Whitewater Kayak (Single Airmen) This trip starts in the heart of Brown’s Canyon Wilderness Area and finishes in a high mountain valley surrounded by 14,000 foot peaks. Class II and III rapids will provide excitement while you learn how to kayak the river. Fee is $35 and includes transportation, guide and equipment on your adventure. Bring money for lunch!

July 19: Hot Air Balloon Ride (Single Airmen) Hot-Air Ballooning, Balloon Ride, Balloon Flight or Balloon Adventure; no matter how it’s said, Fair Winds is Colorado’s Favorite and it is only 30 minutes from Denver or Estes Park. Enjoy spectacular views of the majestic Rocky Mountains over beautiful Boulder, Colorado. Daily flights offer a year-round change of scenery including mountain ranges, plains, and wildlife as far as the eye can see! They encourage all guests, if they wish, to participate in both the inflation and deflation of the balloon. Fee is $55 per person and departure time is TDB. This trip is limited so sign up today!

July 25: Medicine Bow Peak Hike This moderate to difficult hike for the average weekend hiker is on an awesome 7.4 mile loop that tops out at 12,013 in elevation is great for recreational hiking or hardcore trail running. Fee is $20. Bring your lunch, snacks and plenty of water. We have day packs available for rent if you don’t have your own. Because of the difficulty, elevation, and length of this hike we recommend participants be in good physical condition and no younger than 10. This trip is dependent on weather conditions, an early morning departure from Outdoor Recreation, 7 a.m., is planned to avoid afternoon thunderstorms.
