KOLA

Katy Online Learning Academy (KOLA) offers credit recovery through a web-based learning

platform in a blended learning environment. KOLA allows students to complete a course at their

own pace within a specified timeframe supported by teachers certified in their core area.

To be successful in KOLA a students’ grade should be 60 to 69, attend class (KOLA is not virtual),

take notes, and have a 9th grade reading level. Upon completion and passing all assignments

students receive a 70 which replaces the failing grade on their transcript.

KOLA registration for Summer Term is during the General Registration June 10th and 11th, 2016.

Katy ISD will award credit for approved Dual Credit courses taken during the summer.

Availability and course schedule is determined by Houston Community College (HCC).

The HCC summer course schedule is posted at www.hccs.edu (click on the Northwest tab).

Students who attend class on a Houston Community College campus must have a current

meningitis immunization on file with the college prior to enrolling in any courses. Contact HCC
