We are very excited that you have chosen to register your child for our fun-filled
adventures this summer. Your child's summer camp experience will be filled with
discovery and exploration-based, themed activities. Each theme is specifically
designed to facilitate inquiry, enthusiasm, and an excitement for learning.

*There are no camp sessions from July 6 through July 17. Ivybrook is closed for Summer Break.
To register your child for summer camp, you can pick up a form from your school’s principal or complete the
camp registration form found on the last page of this handbook. Please consult with your campus to
determine camp session availability. Turn in your completed registration form and payment to your school’s
principal.
You must register for at least two summer camp sessions. Summer camp sessions will fill up on a “first
come, first served” basis. Please choose your summer camp options carefully because your summer camp
fees are non-refundable, and there is a $20.00 charge to change camp sessions. In addition, refunds will
not be issued if your child is absent from camp for any reason.

For our summer camp programs we place children into multi-age classes based upon your child’s age at the time of the camp session. Lesson plans and activities for our camps are created to meet the needs of children at each level of development.
Beginner Level Camps : Two-Year-Olds and Younger Three-Year-Olds Beginner camps are designed for the inquisitive nature of our youngest learners and will engage them in multisensory exploration and discovery.
Intermediate Level : Older Three-Year-Olds and Four-Year-Olds Our intermediate camps invite children to dive into hands on investigations that will build upon their understanding of the world around them.
Advanced Level : Five and Six-Year-Olds The advanced camps are full of activities that allow children to deepen their knowledge base while developing higher level thinking skills along the way.
If you have questions regarding which camps your child should attend, please contact the school’s Principal.
Student Class Placement Information
Your non-refundable deposit includes a one time $25.00 materials fee per child and a deposit of $50.00
per camp week (which will be subtracted from your camp balance) and is due at the time of registration.
The balance of your summer camp tuition is due by June 5, 2020 . Upon payment, this balance is
non-refundable. Summer camp tuition is $140 per week. Fees may be paid in person at Ivybrook
Academy with check or cash.
If you need to make any changes to the camp sessions for which you registered, there will be a $20.00
fee assessed.

ArtTastic (Week One)
Vibrant hues of colors, abstract creations, and sculptural designs will line the halls as our artists create,
create, create! Enthusiasm for a wide array of visual arts ranging from collage to stained glass will be
fostered during art exploration. Techniques, textures, and various art mediums will be presented. Campers
will gain confidence as they discover their knack for the aesthetically beautiful! Some of the questions we
will be answering include:
• Can we paint the color of music?
• Which materials will I choose for my Kandinsky collage?
• How will I investigate the lost art of pinch pots?
• What is the Batik art technique?
Pirates and Princesses (Week Two)
Come on an enchanted journey to the time of pirates and princesses. We will jump into the world of make
believe and watch as these historic characters come to life before our eyes! We will also hear stories of
amazing wonder and magical creatures. Children will be fascinated by these mesmerizing tales that will
captivate their imaginations! Join us as we create castles, design crowns, build shops, and reenact stories.
Together we will research:
• How many rings will I get on the Pirate Hook toss game?
• Can I create a treasure map?
• Can I “walk the plank” without getting wet?
• What will I learn when I conduct the exploding treasure chest experiment?
Water Works (Week Three)
Splash into a wonderful week of water fun! Sprinklers and water tables will cover the gardens and
playgrounds. Children will create their own water toys and play soggy games. We will also bring our water
fun indoors as we utilize water to create paintings, scented art, and large murals. Campers will be sure to
splish and splash so bring your bathing suit, water toys, and towels. This week we will be wondering:
• Will water move our water wheel?
• Are oil and water friends?
• What do I need for a game of Ready, Set, Splash?
• Who will win the sling and soak challenge?

Make It, Bake It, Take It (Week Four)
Our teachers will be welcoming your child to a week filled with healthy snacks and yummy treats. Our chefs
will don their aprons and chef hats as they bake delicious cuisine! We will explore the world of the culinary
arts as we measure, sift, stir, and create edible masterpieces. This is sure to be a yummy week of camp.
Some of the activities we will participate in are:
• What are the different shapes I can make my pancakes?
• Can I follow the steps of a recipe to make pizza?
• How can I use healthy eating habits to help me prepare a special snack?
• What kinds of snacks do children around the world enjoy?
Science Lab: Machines and Magnets (Week Five)
Is your child the next Albert Einstein or Sir Isaac Newton? Come find out as our junior scientists discover the
many mysteries of machines and magnets. Lab coats and magnets will be needed as we move from
hypothesis to conclusion with fun daily activities. Our children will complete in-depth investigations utilizing
the scientific method. Creating unique machines will be sure to keep our children wondering, discovering,
and investigating all week. The following are just some of the questions we will answer this week:
• Which objects can I move using my lever machine?
• Can I create magnet slime?
• Which inclined plane will work best for the marble run?
• What is a Rube-Goldburg machine and how do I create one?
Junior Olympics (Week Six)
Ready, set, go! Our young Olympians will start the week with a formal opening ceremony as they participate
in the March of the Countries. They will then take part in Track and Field, Gymnastics, “Water Polo,” and
many other fun events. These sporting events will focus on teamwork, large muscle skills, and good
sportsmanship. We will end the week with the awards presentations where everyone is a gold medalist. The
following are just some the questions we will be answering throughout the week:
• Can I design a unique Olympic flag?
• How can I throw the dizzy discus?
• What will my measurement be for the long jump?
• Can teamwork help us win the bobsled challenge?

When you enroll in our summer camp program, you are agreeing to adhere to all of the policies and
procedures outlined in the Family Handbooks. Copies of the Family Handbook are located in the school’s
administrative office.
Policies and Procedures
Supplies
To make your child’s camp experience as enjoyable as possible, we ask
that you provide your child with a complete change of clothing and any
diapering products that are needed. All of these items need to be labeled
with your child’s name. Also, please send your child to camp with a filled
water bottle and apply sunscreen to your child 15 minutes prior to the
start of camp. This will ensure that your child is protected from the sun
for the entire camp day.
Student Pick-Up Times
To assure that our pick-up schedule runs efficiently, there are late fees for
children who are picked up after 12:00. The time indicated on the clock in the
lobby determines the current time. The late fee will be applied as follows: $5.00
for the first 10 minutes past dismissal and $1.00 for every minute after the first
10 minutes.
Transportation
Children in the Intermediate or Advanced classes will have the opportunity to utilize the car lane for
pick-up and drop-off. Parents of children in the Beginner classes will be required to come into the school
to drop-off and pick-up their children.
Parents and guardians will be required to show a driver’s license matching the student’s file for
identification purposes when picking up their children. If an individual other than the people listed as the
guardians on your child’s application will be picking up your child, a note from a primary guardian is
required.
Be aware that there will be considerable traffic during pick-up and drop-off. Please be patient and careful
as families move in and out of the school and parking lot.
Snacks
A snack will be provided for your child midway through each camp day. Snacks will include Graham
Crackers, Goldfish Crackers, Vanilla Wafers, Club Crackers, Cheez-it Crackers, and Popsicle Treats. In
addition, filtered water will be provided throughout the day. If your child has any dietary restrictions,
please make sure to indicate this on your child’s application form. Please remember that, due to life
threatening allergies, we are a peanut/tree nut free facility. Therefore, children are not permitted to bring
food with them to summer camp.
