Marcus Arnold - 7OAC recently represented his Club at the England Youth Fencing Championships in Hatfield. This competition saw Marcus being seeded 33rd in England in his new age group of U13s. He was fairly pleased with the result, considering the new, more experienced opposition. He is now looking forward to a busy summer training for the Elite Epee Series of competitions which begin in October. Marcus is delighted that there is to be a Fencing Club at The King’s School from September which he hopes many other students will join and learn a completely new sport. Oundle Music Festival 2012 Grade 4 Piano Competition 2nd Prize. Double Graded to Yellow Belt in the King's Karate Club. Stephen Alcock - JD 4 ABRSM Piano Grade 3 - distinction. Oundle Music Festival 2012 Grade 4 Piano Competition 1st Prize and Medal. Double Graded to Yellow Belt in the King's Karate Club. Archie Benson - 8CB Competed in the Junior Championships Pony Club Triathlon, this involves 4 disciplines shooting, swimming, running and riding . With stiff opposition he came 3rd.

Tom Bridgewater - 12AAR Tom took part in the Gold Challenge Olympic Stadium event on April 1st. Tom has been raising money for VICTA by undertaking a double Gold Challenge, a charity fundraising scheme partnered with the British Olympic Association. As one of the top fundraisers, Tom won a place to run in a 4 x 100m relay race in the Olympic Stadium. The Gold Challenge Day was the first ticketed event to take place in the Olympic Stadium, and served as a test day for the Olympics. Although Tom’s team didn’t win the race, taking part and running on the Olympic track was an amazing experience. Nicole Britto - JD1, Year 3

Goes for swimming lessons at the Harper’s Leisure Club in

Deeping. She has passed Stage 4 of the ASA National plan for

swimming in April 2012. She is really enjoying swimming and is

doing well in Stage 5.

Calum Cole - Form 7TVC For the third year running Calum has been the top goal - scorer for his club, scoring 25 goals despite spending 2 and a half months unable to play due to a medical problem with one of his knees. Calum had three hat tricks, scored four goals and was presented with the match ball in another match, and won the Man of the Match award on three separate occasions. Ella Dalrymple-Smith - 7TVC Achieved orange belt for karate at The Peterborough Freestyle Karate Club which Clifton Findley runs on a Thursday after school at The King’s School.

Lorcan Elliott - 8CJS Has gained his green belt (6th Kyu rank) in Go-Kan-Ryu Karate-Do.

Alexander Ferguson - JD2

Alex is aged 10 and started karate at the age of 5. He goes to the after - school karate club at King’s on Thursdays. This makes him the youngest ever King’s School pupil to get a black belt (a little bit of history). Harry Fletcher - 9FEO Has recently achieved Grade 6 with Distinction on Trombone. He is also a member of the band, Youth Brass 2000, which gained 1st prize at the National Youth Brass Band championships in Manchester. Eleonor Fuller - 9 NJB Plays for Old Northamptonians (ON’s) U15 Girls’ Rugby squad as Full Back and this season they are the League Winners, playing 12 games and winning them all. Comments from the coaching staff include: “ A fantastic achievement for a team of girls who have played some outstanding physical rugby this season”. “ The Girls’ section is the absolute pride of our club and the Under 15s have been amazing - well done indeed” “We did it. Everybody played an important role this year, I'm so proud of you all!” Not only that, but she also got the chance to be a ball girl for the England Ladies’ Under 20s game against France at Moulton College. This is Ellie’s first season, which has seen her learn and grow as a player with the determination to develop further next season. It may not be the most glamorous sport but the rewards and team spirit are fantastic.

Ellen Gregory - 12 LAW For her contribution to Young Enterprise Ellen has been awarded - Business Woman of the Year for the Peterborough area. She has been involved in the School’s Young Enterprise activities since September last year and, to date, has had a very successful year, with the team making approximately £1300. Rosie Jacobs - 11 DJH Has been accepted onto a Rotary Camp Tour and is being supported by Werrington Rotary Club. She feels very lucky and is delighted to be travelling to Colorado for 3 weeks at the end of July 2012. Imran Jamal - 8CB Achieved his Grade 5 Music Theory. He would like to thank Mrs Blanchford for all her time and effort in helping him to achieve his goal. Imran was also awarded a Merit for his cello - playing at the Oundle Festival of Music and Drama. He played a Grade 5 piece by Scott Joplin, called ‘Easy Winners’. Imran passed his Karate grading this term at King’s and is now an Orange Belt.

Jemima Letts - 10DJM. Jemima has been playing her euphonium in her local brass band, March Brass 2000, for a couple of years and this Easter was awarded the Band Shield for the most improved player during the year. Ben Jennings - 8CJS Recent sailing achievements include: National Schools’ Sailing Association Regatta, Weymouth July 2012, sailing with The King’s School Sailing Team for Cambridgeshire: - 6th place overall out of 146 toppers. - 3rd place in the Single - Handed race. Ben was presented with his prizes by GB Olympic sailor Paul Goodison. Topper National Series 2, June 2012, 1st Under 14, 17th out of approx. 150. Topper National Series 1, April 2012, 1st Under 14, 26th out of approx. 200. Topper Midlands Area Series 2012 – Winner. Topper Inlands – May 2012 – 2nd Under 14 boy, 34th overall. Philippa Lloyd - 10SAR Passed her Grade 4 piano. Alix Middleditch - 10AMK Passed both her Grade 5 Theory and Grade 4 and 5 Organ exams with Distinction. She is still playing regularly for services at Paston Church.

Martha Page - 7TVC Passed her Grade 4 Piano exam. Both she and her brother, Alfie Page - 9TMP have been selected to join Peterborough Rowing Club. Natasha Parkinson - 9NJB Passed her Grade 4 Classical Ballet Exam with Merit. Natasha also took 1st place and won the Piano Scales Trophy at Grade 4 level. Michaela Parkinson - 9JD Passed her Grade 4 Classical Ballet Exam with Merit. Georgia Pluke - JD1 Passed her Grade 1 Piano with Merit. Emily Revell - 7 OAC Achieved her Gold level in Ice Dancing and Single Skating. Thomas Wilkin - 13SJW After a successful season as Point Guard and Captain of Peterborough under 18 basketball club, Tom has just been awarded 'Most Valuable Player'. Tom has been successful in his application to be an Olympic volunteer 'Games Maker'. He will be based at the Olympic Stadium and will be on duty for the opening ceremony. Confirmations Our congratulations and good wishes go to those students in Years 7 – 9 who were baptised and /or confirmed by Bishop Donald in Peterborough Cathedral at the Easter Vigil on 23rd April. Each of them attended an eight - week preparation course during the Spring Term with Helena del Pino (School Chaplain) and Revd Canon Jonathan Baker of the Cathedral, who is also a School Governor. Congratulations to the Young Enterprise team – Profectus Enterprise who attended the Cambridgeshire County Final at Robinson College, Cambridge on Wednesday 20th June. Although they were unsuccessful in being named ‘Best County Company’, they did receive 2 awards: Best Environmental Award for ‘re-connecting customers with their past using a recycled source’ and the Best Technology Award for ‘their use of social networking, the internet and QR codes’. Well done to the whole team for their continuous commitment and contribution to the Young Enterprise programme this year. The Times Spelling Bee 2012

A Year 7 team consisting of Sophia Andrews, Edwin Flack, Georgie Franks and Amy van Dongen took part in the on-line heat of the Times Spelling Bee 2012. The team scored 48 points, and were invited to take part in the regional semi-final which took place at Cineworld Cambridge on 17th May 2012. 1,200 schools had taken part in the on-line heats, and the top 100 teams were invited to take part in 10 semi-finals around the country. After two challenging and high speed rounds our team came seventh in their semi-final heat. Schools had travelled from as far away as Norwich and Aylesbury to take part in this heat. The winners of the Cambridge semi-final were the team from St. John’s College School, which will take part in the final in London on 21st June. Many congratulations to Sophia, Edwin, Georgie and Amy!

The Junior Department gymnasts competed in the Regional Schools’ gymnastic

competition in Stowmarket, Ipswich. They qualified for this by previously competing

in the Peterborough Schools’ competition and finishing second.

The gymnasts were marked on vaulting and body management / control routines and

competed against some very talented gymnasts. They came 2nd overall with only 0.5 in

it for 1st position.

An excellent achievement and the result of a lot of

hard work and practice with Mrs Radjenovic.

STEM and Crest Awards In February, 8 of our Year 9 students took part in the Cambridge Rotary Technology Tournament. They were challenged with designing a device for handling hazardous materials in emergency situations. On the day they won the award for ‘Best Portfolio’ and each member of the team also earned a Bronze Crest Award from The British Science Association. Our congratulations go to Henry Bolton, Elena Havenga, Mia Drury, Jack Howard, Lizzie Hammond, Tom White, Sarah Greenwood and Rebecca Hockley.

King’s students enter Go4Set challenge.

Over the course of this academic year, 6 Year 9 students have been working towards a Science, Engineering

and Technology competition called Go4Set. They met with an engineer from Anglian Water on a weekly basis

and worked on a project entitled ‘Energy and your School’. The focus of their research was to investigate the

heating of the Mathematics Block which has long caused problems, with Maths teachers and students alike

reporting that the rooms become too warm. The team also investigated the lighting in the school, with the aim

of implementing an automatic system to control the lighting when it’s not being used.

EDT Engineering Education Scheme

This year, The King’s School once again entered a

team in the EDT Engineering Education Scheme. Our

2012 team was made up of four students; Chris

Holroyd, James Sanders, Ali-Asghar Hansraj and

James Gardiner.

The King’s team was paired with maritime civil

engineering firm Royal Haskoning, and worked

alongside the company on a real-world project, a two

Israel. Overall, the scheme was a great success,

with the team providing a flawless final

presentation to a panel of assessors on the final

day, as well as a 40 page report.

The team would like to thank Mr Dunn for giving

each of themthis wonderful opportunity, as well

as Mr Julian Hodnett from Royal Haskoning, for

providing his expertise throughout the project.

Going for Gold – A Reflection

At Sports Day one image that struck me was the sight of House Captains encouraging younger members of the school to finish their races. They reminded me of Jesus, the good shepherd, who loves and values each member of his team and will always go after the one who has got lost at the back or has been forgotten by his teammates or is having trouble crossing the finishing line. Fantastic athletes give us much entertainment, inspiration and pleasure and in this Olympic sum-mer we will have plenty of opportunities to gasp and cheer, and wonder at those whose extraor-dinary energy and drive enables them to reach beyond ordinary human limitations. Although very few of us will ever achieve such peak physical fitness ourselves, we can all participate in a different kind of race where physical training is not necessary. In this race the winners can be the least obvious and the first can be last and the last can be first. In fact, it is a race in which everyone can be a winner as the competition is not external but internal. You are competing not with other people but against you own selfishness, fear and weakness. Those who do well in this race will be training spiritually through prayer, Bible reading and service to others. And once you set even just one foot off the starting blocks the Good Shepherd will be there, cheering you on, refreshing you by the power of the Holy Spirit and leading you home across the finish line to encounter your Heavenly Father.

Helena del Pino, School Chaplain A Prayer Heavenly Father, we give thanks for the talents you have given so many members of our school and for all our successes in sport and exams. We give thanks for the inspiration of those who excel in their own field and also for the generosity and wisdom of those who teach us and advise us on how to do well, especially our parents and teachers. Give us the grace also to remember to train our spiritual muscles through prayer, listening to your word, serving others. In the more restful days of summer help us to slow down enough to win this race to meet with you. Amen

Physical Education Tennis We have had a successful summer tennis season despite the poor weather. Two teams of both Year 8 and Year 10 boys and girls have entered the Aegon Team Schools ’ tennis tournament and have been competing with schools such as The Perse, Comberton Village College, St Bede’s and The Peter-borough School. Our most successful team has been the Year 10 boys’ A team, with appearances from David Stevenette, Lu-cas Bartol-Bibb, Alex Lowe-Lauri, Leo Novakovic and Nathan Hagerty. The team competed against some talented players and represented the school extreme-ly well, whilst displaying great sportsmanship and de-termination. Phoebe Benson has shown great leadership with her Year 10 A team after a close match with The Peterbor-ough School, however coming out victorious after a

deciding tie-break. Special mention to Ella Blake who has continued to improve throughout the season. Both the Year 7- 9 boys and girls have competed in The Peterborough Schools’ tennis tournament, with a special mention to the Year 7 boys who finished 2nd overall with some up and coming tennis players show-ing excellent promise for next season. A friendly evening of tennis was enjoyed by all against

Bourne Grammar School and this is something we

hope to continue next season. Special mention to Mrs

Harris for arranging the fixtures for this season.

Peterborough Schools’ Championships. The final event of the athletics season is the Peterborough Schools’ Championships, an event where all the Peterborough schools compete against each other. The pupils all performed very well,shown below is the table of results which shows just how well the School did in this competition. The overall results were the best the School has recorded. Congratulations to Nathanael Grenfell ( Year 9) and Matt Rodrigues ( Year 10 ), both achieving a Champi-onship record for the Discus.

Well done to all those who have taken part in athletics throughout the term.

Physical Education AA Track and Field Championships On Saturday 14th May pupils from the School took part in the AA Track and Field Cham-pionships held at the Embankment Athletics Track. The School has a history of doing well at this competition, 70 pupils from Years 7 – 13 took part and were keen to con-tinue the success. The day started well, Rosie Jacobs winning the 300m Hurdles, Leah Manning the 100m Hurdles and Philip Wilson winning the 400m Hurdles. Throughout the day the pupils performed very well with a number receiving medals for finishing in the top 3 of the event. Medal Winners- U20W – Leah Manning 1st 100m Hurdles and 2nd 200m; Emma Randall 1st 1500m; Elea-nor Smith 2nd 1500m and Emma Chan 2nd 800m. It was difficult to tell during the day how well the School was doing,but it was clear that the Cambridge schools had a large number of competitors taking part. When the re-sults came through a couple of days later the School had regained its title of Schools’ AAA Track and Field Champion,, the names of schools on the Shield are all King’s except one, so we hope to repeat the success again next year.

Physical Education English Schools’ Track and Field Cup. The second athletics competition of the term for the School was the Track and Field Cup, which was held at St Ives. This is a team competition in which each competitor is only allowed to compete in 2 events and these have to be either a track + field event, track + relay or field + relay for the boys’ competition; the number in the team is 14 and for the girls 12. The event is points based rather than the position you finish in, this means that in each event it is important to try and achieve a personal best. The Junior (Year 7/8 ) teams performed very well, for some it was the first or se-cond time they had competed in an ath-letics event, both teams finished 3rd overall. The total team points for Year 7/8 girls were 188 with the top points score of 28, being Isobel Hopkins, who competed in the 100m and Long Jump, Lizzie Pam with 26 points from the 200m and Discus and Ali-son Stokoe 23 points from the 1500m and High Jump. The Junior Boys’ total score was 236 points, the top - scoring boy in this age group were Ollie Bowling 31 points from the 800m and Long Jump; James Barkshire 27 points from the 800m and Triple Jump; Alex Slater 25 points High Jump and 400m and Jacob Butcher Javelin and Hurdles.

The Inter Girls and Boys worked very hard all day striving to get the best results they could and both suc-ceeded in winning the competition and went on to compete in a Regional final held on Thursday 21st June at Watford. It was a wet day but all the events took place, the competition was very high and gave our athletes the opportunity to experience competing against schools we wouldn’t normally meet. Whilst we did not qualify for the National Finals the event was a success. Winning teams at St Ives: Charlotte Hilton, Olivia Shearer, Naomi Kehinde, Hannah Randall, Mercedes Ola, Lizzie Steele, Ella Blake, Milly Tovey, Sarah Chan, Charlotte Lloyd, Alanna Harris, Kath-erine Amps,George Berkes, Jasper Bailey, Mohit Soni, Nathaneal Grenfell, Brayan Benjamin, Ben Pennell, Artem Chymbai, Alex Reeve, Sam Holmes, Daniel Chymbai, Charlie Jones, Daniel Gardiner, Liam Green, and Matt Rodrigues.

Physical Education Peterborough City Trials The annual City Trials were held on Monday 21st May, this is the selection event for those athletes looking to qualify to represent Peterborough at the Cam-bridgeshire Schools’ and involves pupils from Y8 – 11.Unfortunately, due to Olympic commitments, it was decided that the Senior Sixth Formers would not take part in the schools competitions and if they wished to gain qualifying times /distances for the English Schools’ they would need to achieve these via club com-petitions. . The School has a good number of pupils taking part and the majority of those who competed went on to be selected to represent Peterborough, due to them finishing in the top 2. The pupils went on to represent Peterborough Schools’ in the Cambridgeshire Schools’ on Saturday 16th June at the Cambridge University track. Pupils qualifying to represent Peterborough at the Cambridgeshire Schools’: Junior Girls: Alanna Harris ( Hurdles + High Jump); Charlotte Hilton ( 100m,200m + Relay); Ella Blake ( 800m ); Milly Tovey ( 1500m); Charlotte Lloyd (High Jump); Naomi Kehinde ( Javelin); Felicity Ford ( Javelin); Jess Amps ( Discus) Junior Boys: Brayan Benjamin ( 100m, Long Jump, High Jump and Relay); Jasper Bailey ( 200m+ Relay); Niran Patel ( 400m); James Barkshire ( 800m); Ollie Bowling (1500m); Jacob Butcher (hurdles); Nathaenal Grenfell ( Triple Jump + Discus). SPORTS DAY 2012 The day began with many House Captains arriving at the crack of dawn at the Embankment in order to gain the

best spots, with added hopes of gaining a psychological edge over their competitors with a good marquee

position. The excitement was bursting out of our newly - appointed House leaders, each with the drive to create

a new history for their House. Expectations of triumph were huge for all. Except perhaps Peters, who have done a

sterling job of holding up the other houses from the bottom of the table for the past few years.

As events commenced at 11.15am not an idle person was left in sight as all members were called upon for duty

to their House. Some fantastic performances lay in store from some fantastic athletes, but more importantly

every competitor gave their all, no matter their ability. With the eventful atmosphere, students work hard to

support, inspire and motivate each other, in order to continue their thrilling performances and gain participation

points for their House.

St. Chad’s took the victory on Sports Day but the Overall House Cup winners were St. Oswald’s, much to the

delight of Housemaster, Dr Webster.

During the day, records were broken and ‘Personal Bests’ were shattered; we can comfortably say the future of

British athletics is safe with us. Well done to everyone involved!!

! St. Chad’s Sports Day Review

Who would have thought after 5 years of continually settling for 2nd or 3rd place (and sometimes 4th!), St Chad’s House would finally make an astounding come-back. Taking first place was an unimaginable achievement, and a fabulous start to our winning year ahead.

Captain Nathan’s dedication and anticipation were highlighted by arriving at the gates to the Embankment at 6.55am, and patiently waiting over an hour for the gates to open, to grab that finishing line spot for our marquee. Angela Radjenovic was in her car, ready to zoom through the gates to help us set up, while shouting out of the window: ‘Mark your territory, girls!’

With the finishing line spot ours, we began setting up the marquee, using Mrs Varty’s bunting and Mrs Radjenovic’s red spray - painted love hearts, and our two marquees were soon looking professional and very red. After a small misunderstanding about the location of the banners, we finally were ready to start up the day. Our Chad’s Noticeboard was ready, and with many bottles of cherryade and water by our sides, we were ready to claim our victory.

The preliminary events had already put us in a fantastic position, in the lead due to some outstanding performances. Steph De Kremer and Katie Jones claimed 1st and 2nd in Javelin, Bryan Benjamin won Triple Jump, Will Mann won High Jump, and Kelsey Brace won Javelin. All these results, alongside other excellent performances, meant we won the Field Events trophy.

On the day there were also brilliant performances; Bill Fear won Triple Jump, setting a new record, as well as winning the 100m and being part of the Chad’s winning relay team, as a result winning the Victor Ludorum for his outstanding effort. Thanks to everyone’s contribution we managed to win Sports Day, people had the right attitude and special thanks has to go to those who filled in on the day, getting us those few extra points which made all the difference.

We cannot believe the amazing effort you all put in, and we could not be more proud of what we have already achieved. It was a brilliant ending to the school year but only the beginning for our endeavours to continue our success and accomplishments. We would also like to thank the other House Captains for all their support, and healthy competition. Thank you to all the Sixth Formers for their support and help on the day and of course we couldn’t forget our house leaders: Mrs Amps and Mrs Hobday, whose support and organisation were key to our success. Let’s welcome a winning year to come! Chad’s on tour – let me hear you roar!

St. Oswald’s Sports Day Review

Another busy year has passed for St Oswald’s House and, once again, we have been amazed by the levels of dedication and commitment that every House member has shown; which have ultimately been the key to another successful year.

It all started in October when Oswald’s triumphed in House Music, setting the tone nicely for the year ahead. For this we’d like to thank our soloists who created the lead prior to the night, to the band whose long hours of practice resulted in a sterling rendition of “Feeling Good” by Michael Buble and finally, to the previous House Captains: Pip Meakin, John Rolfe, Charlie Grieco and James Hamilton, who led the House to victories in the Band category and the Orchestra.

Between House Music and Sports Day, we have enjoyed accomplishments across the years in inter - house competitions like netball and rugby, which set the bar high (and hopefully got the House in shape!) for Sports Day. Despite the stresses of organising the event, the day lived up to our expectations. We were the only House to have every event space filled, which is truly a testament to the commitment and desire to succeed shown by Oswaldians. There were individual successes from exceptional performances in close races, to new personal bests being set and school records being broken and we applaud every House member for their on-going effort and even those who spectated, without you, our accomplishments would not have been possible. This was the closest Sports Day competition in recent memory, culminating in Oswald’s being edged out of victory by St. Chad’s for the Sports Day trophy by just six points! However, we managed to win the Field Events Cup and the Victrix Ludorum for Best Sportswoman of the Day (courtesy of Simi Pam’s efforts) which was enough for us to win the Cock House trophy for the overall winning House over the year (for the 5th year in a row!)

The performance shown by St Oswald’s has been inspiring from start to finish and as House Captains, we would like to thank everyone for their dedication and patience with us House Captains. We would also like to thank the House staff for their encouragement and guidance with special thanks to our Housemaster Dr Webster for motivating the House all year round in spite of our Housemistress’s absence. We must also thank the other House Captains for their support, understanding and healthy competition and we would like to assure them that our winning ways will be continuing next year! Thank you Oswald’s for all of your hard work both now and in the coming year! Ozzy ozzy ozzy! Oi oi oi!

St. Peter’s Sports Day Review

First of all, a big thank you to all those who participated in Sports Day and showed true

dedication to the St Peter’s House cause. Coming into Sports Day we were 3rd overall after

a string of impressive performances: the Sixth Form boys won inter - house dodge - ball with

superb efforts from Charles Wadsley, Charlie Kingston and Ben Carpenter. We had podium

finishes for the Year 7’s and 8’s in blind football, an event designed to increase awareness

for the upcoming Paralympic Games in the summer.

Sadly we weren’t rewarded for our efforts with any silverware but as House Captains we

thoroughly enjoyed the day and were delighted with the efforts of numerous individuals.

Such dedication was exemplified by Bobby Zizza who stepped into run 1500m just ten

minutes before the start of the race. Such commitment was replicated across the House and

there are too many people to thank personally but you know who you are.

Congratulations to St Chad’s house who were worthy winners on the day and to St Oswald’s

for once again taking the overall House trophy, much to Dr Webster’s continued delight. A

huge thank you to Mr Warsap and Miss Karsten for their continued support and enthusiasm,

as well as all those who helped make the banners that adorned our gazebo.

With House Music just around the corner, St Peter’s has a good opportunity to showcase the

hard work and determination that have so often provided the cornerstones of our House’s

ethos. We look forward to the challenges House Music brings, as well as to working with the

other House Captains over what we’re sure will be a fun and exciting year ahead.

School House Sports Day Review

Friday 29th June was a big day for all of us: not only did we have one of the biggest House

events of the year to organise, but it was almost the first thing for us to do as the new House

Captains, making it truly a baptism of fire! School House began the day on strong ground,

having won the House Music competition on the night, only losing out to Oswald’s due to

the solo competitions. We had also won the Junior Department’s own Sports Day a few days

before, which stood us in good stead for the House Cup. Throughout the day, our position

varied, never quite reaching the top; finishing 3rd on the day we hoped Chad’s victory would

then hand us the House Cup, but yet again we were defeated at the end. We finished a very

respectable 2nd place, again to Oswald’s, thanks to the enthusiasm and will to take part

shown by all members of the House.

Congratulations to all the other House Captains for making such a great day happen, and for

carrying on with such good cheer despite the hectic schedule!

We would like to give a massive thank you to everyone involved in making this day work:

those sixth Formers who gave up free time to help set up the gazebos and tables, who

organised all the participants, anyone who created banners and cheered for the teams, who

attended preliminaries and contributed to our score, who baked cakes and brought foods

you were truly amazing, and we could not have done it without your help. Every person,

whether they competed or organised, gave us yet another reason to be bursting with pride

for our wonderful House! We must particularly thank our Housemaster and Mistress, Mr

Hughes and Miss Cripps, for their advice and encouragement, which fuelled us through the

day!

As we anticipate the next school year, we look forwards to welcoming the new members of

our House, the challenges to come, and the feats which will undoubtedly make us proud to

say we were in School House!

Art & Design Exhibition 2012 June 29th was not just Sports Day, it was also one of the year’s cultural highlights, featuring ‘Vision’ the 2012 Art, Design & Textiles exhibition. Created to showcase the very best A-level and GCSE work of our creative students, the show also featured displays of creative work produced by Key Stage 3 students during the Olympic Fortnight Cross - Curricular Event. The weekend was again, a fantastic success, bringing plentiful comments of congratulations from those who visited during the Friday evening and Saturday morning. The work displayed and the organisation of the show were fantastic and we wish all students involved the very best, and thank you.
