The Great Commission of WKU The Bible says in Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the Earth.” This is the last thing the Bible reports Je-sus saying before he ascended to Heaven and it is known as the Great Commission. As Chris-tians, it is our duty to be witnesses to Jesus in the world.

One of the opportunities college students have is summer mission trips. Students at WKU have been on mission trips both domestic and international. Reaching others with the Gospel has not only impacted the people they were going to, but it has also helped the students to grow into better disciples of Jesus as they seek to serve.

Kevin Harper and Cassie Kaufman are both pre-paring for their first summer mission in the summer of 2012 as are several other students at WKU. Now what about you? As Christians in college, there is a huge opportunity to serve by doing summer missions. Jesus called us all to share the Gospel in the world. It is our entire mission as Christians. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

Kevin Harper will be going to Richmond, KY and New York City next summer.

Cassie Kaufman will be go-ing to Baghdad, Kentucky and either Kazakhstan or Guate-mala.
