SUMMER PROGRAMS 2012 The Summer Programs Office, in cooperation with the Edison Township Board of Education, is pleased to offer summer programs for the youth of Edison Township and the surrounding com-munities. We are offering programs for youths in grades 1 through 12. These programs are based on General Education Curriculum and designed for students who enjoy self-directed learning and exploration. The Summer Programs Office reserves the right to limit the enrollment of each class/program/ camp on a first received, first enrolled basis. Edison residents will receive priority. Registering as soon as possible is recommended to assure a place in the class/camp you want and to protect against cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. No transportation is provided. Lunch and beverage are the responsibility of the parent.

REFUND POLICY All tuition fees include a non-refundable $30.00 registration fee. Since classes/camps are ap-proved based on a sufficient number of paid registrations, fees will not be returned for any rea-son after the class/camp has started unless a doctor’s note is submitted. Refunds requested within 10 days before the first class/camp meets are subject to a deduction of the $30.00 reg-istration fee.

The Summer Programs office reserves the right to cancel any class/camp in which registration is insufficient. A full refund will be issued, or you may transfer to another class/camp that is still avail-able.

All refund requests must be in writing and received by the Summer Programs office no later than Friday, July 27, 2012. All refunds will be processed after August 1, 2011, and sent by mail from the Business Office of the Board of Education.

CHECK CLEARING POLICY In the event that a personal check used for payment for a class/camp is returned from your bank, a returned check fee of $35.00 will be charged. ONLY CASH OR MONEY ORDER WILL BE AC-CEPTED AS PAYMENT FOR A CHECK THAT HAS NOT CLEARED THE BANK. Please note that all checks will be held throughout the registration period. All checks will deposited by mid-June.

ONLINE REGISTRATION POLICY (PREFERRED)

The Summer Enrichment and Sports Camp Brochure will be available online this year as well as in your child’s school. Online payment will also be available if desired. If you are interested in online registration and payment, a Parent Portal account is needed. Directions for creating a Parent Portal ac-count are the following: 1. Complete the registration fields with the appropriate information. Click “Done” when com-

plete. You will receive a submission confirmation screen. The information submitted will be processed and verified. After the information has been verified you will receive an email with the account information. You must submit a separate registration form for each child.

4. If you have any questions about registering or logging on to the Parent Portal please visit

the Genesis Parent Portal FAQ page at: http://www.edison.k12.nj.us/Page/2661 or call 732-452-4574. 5. Once you receive an email verifying your account information, you will be able to access online

registration for Summer Activities, Summer Enrichment, and Sports Camps. You can use this account information for each child’s registration. YOU MUST SUBMIT A SEPARATE REGIS-TRATION FOR EACH CHILD!

MAIL IN REGISTRATION (IF NECESSARY)

We will begin accepting mailed registrations on Monday, April 16, 2015. Registration will end on Friday, May 25, 2012. Note: Any registrations dropped off in the mailbox outside our door will be left unopened until May 30th. You must stamp and mail your registration.

You must submit a separate registration for each child. Moreover, A separate check is needed for each class that each child is registered for. Online registration eliminates this step since each child need only a separate registration online - NO CHECKS are needed for online payment!

Since the summer programs require much planning in order for them to be successful, it causes many problems, such as having to hire additional staff and add more class sections, when registrations are received late. We are therefore forced to charge a $30 late fee for regis-trations received on or after May 30, 2012. Late registrations will not be processed unless the $30 late fee is included with the registration form.

PLEASE REGISTER ONLINE OR USE THE REGISTRATION FORM ON PAGE 26

The Edison Township Board of Education’s Summer Programs Office will once again run the Summer Sports Program for 2012. In their camps the coaches provide a mix of skills instruction and competitive fun for all ages and ability levels while maintaining a low camper-to instructor ratio. A certified trainer or nurse is available at each camp. Camps are held rain or shine. Parents must provide transportation as well as lunch and drink. (Campers stay for lunch only if participating in a full-day camp from 9AM-3PM.)

Please pay special attention to the dates, fees and responsibilities of each camp. Camps are held at both Edison and JP Stevens High Schools. CAMPERS MUST BE 8 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.

PLEASE PAY FOR EACH SESSION SEPARATELY.

Due to the popularity and limited enrollment of our tennis camps, no camper may register for more than 3 sessions of tennis.
