STEM MATTERS NYC (PRE-K – 11TH)

Summer in the City offers a variety of FREE and exciting opportunities for students through its Summer Academy programs and Summer School.

Students of all ages have the opportunity to engage in hands-on STEM activities this summer through:

STEM Academy five-week summer program includes robotics programming, computer coding, game design, as well as art and recreation.

● �Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in 2nd – 10th grade

● �Dates�and�Times: July 6th – August 11th, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

● How�to�Apply: Visit schools.nyc.gov/summer-academy and complete the online lottery application

STEM Matters NYC one-week summer programs range from aerospace to animal science, marine biology to media design, and ecology to engineering for students.

● Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in pre-K to 11th grade

● �Dates�and�Times: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., dates vary by program

CareerCLUE (High School)

Summer in the City offers a variety of FREE and exciting opportunities for students through its Summer Academy programs and Summer School. Students will:

● Spend the summer participating in engaging learning and hands-on STEM activities

● Take trips to museums, parks, and cultural sites

● Receive free breakfast and lunch

CareerCLUE provides high school students the chance to gain valuable work experience and get paid during the summer. Students enrolled in the program will receive an SYEP summer stipend of up to $700 and can also earn an elective credit. Students will visit some of NYC’s leading employers to learn about different careers and also participate in hands-on science, engineering, and art projects throughout the summer.
