CKNU While they may slide effortlessly across the genre map, CKNU make music that when stripped back, exists to make you have a good time. This is soul with a sly grin. From start to finish their thumping new EP ‘Louder’ is pure joy. Of all their recordings to date, this is the one that captures the band’s now stellar live show. There’s that bottom end rooted in funk and hip-hop; that playfulness that finds them slipping from reggae to R&B; and right out front those stunning harmonies

that have become a signature sound led brothers Sah and Tito.

LITTLE BILLIE Brisbane's finest and most experienced American Roots, blues and rockabilly musicians have come together to make up 'Little Billy'… With influences from Ruth Brown, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, and Janis Martin, you can be assured of the need to get to your feet and dance to the high energy, 1950's blues, roots and rockabilly numbers

HIS MERRY MEN Having spent two years maturing like a budget wine, Brisbane band His Merry Men are back with a slick, seven-piece line-up, a bevy of brand new tunes and a thirst to draw even the wall-est of flowers onto the dance floor. His Merry Men have rocked out at events such as, Woodford Folk Festival and Caloundra Music Festival as well as many popular venues across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. They have toured their album, Kind of Loud and two EPs, Bobby Got and Ruthless, as far afield as Melbourne and Perth.

The band draw inspiration from the likes of Mark Ronson, Hiatus Kaiyote and Snarky Puppy. Their music is funky, soulful, and a little bit out there.

BABAGANOUJ are easily one of the most likeable bands around and they’re finally back with a new single. ‘Do Rite With Me Tonite’ proves once again that the band are able to pen the ultimate indie pop anthem. It’s a tale of love and regret, themes that have been explored to death within music, but the band’s strength as songwriters makes the track sound fresh and exciting.

‘Do Rite With Me Tonite’ is everything you could want in a song; catchy lyrics and the call and response vocals from Harriette Pilbeam and Charles Sale that are guaranteed to have listeners swooning. It’s the perfect pop recipe and the impressive guitar solo only adds to the song’s appeal, adding some grit to the overall sweetness of the track.

Having been around for the last five years, Babaganouj have earned themselves fans all over Australia and it looks as though 2016 will be a big year for them. The band reportedly have three EPs in the works this year which might make them hard to escape, although that would hardly be a problem. We love the ‘Nouj!

ANT AGGS TRIO Australian Producer and pianist. When not in the studio ant aggs tours with Xavier Rudd. Also toured with resin Dogs, Tony Rpyster Jr, Toni Childs and Others

THE BRAINS TRUST This is what it would sound like, if ‘future bass, soul music and beats’, went to Lee Scratch Perrys house for a long lunch! Press play, for Mr Jonny's solid bass & crackly beats; Ed's smooth keys and synth melodies; and a sweet punch in the face when the soulful sounds of Jess Lean cuts through the bass, on your new set of speakers! The history of the gang is a bit unknown. But, we do know about

their future!! A deal was made with a mystical guru, during a vague series of events, which concluded in the promise of wealth and a short monsoon season this year. The wager has never been revealed. But, whatever their fate may be, 3 friends with a new and heightened ability to create unique sounding and rich soul music became ‘The Brains Trust’ that day. Keep your eyes closed and your ears underground, when you hear it you will know.

SHANDY are a Bovver Rock band from Brisbane, Australia. C’mon and Clap your hands! Stomp your feet! …. and Join the Shandy Gang! Most Aussies know that a good Shandy is all about the right mix. Take some 70s Bootboy Glam, add 77 Punk, mix in a dash of Sugar Oi and top it all off with loads of Aussie Rock ‘n Roll. That’s the recipe for a good time!
