    EVENT DESCRIPTION

    Project Title: 4th DOST Scholars Summit 2012Objectives:

    The DOST Scholars Summit 2012 is an event that will gather DOST Scholars all overMetro Manila and nearby provinces which will help them steer their vessels through their

    working careers. This whole day event focuses on molding better scholars and building

    camaraderie among scholars. This event also aims to equip them for opportunities outside the

    metro.

    1. To mold better scholars by imparting techniques that will aid in the development of

    character and self-image;

    2. To provide scholars with an opportunity to make better options;

    3. To gather DOST Scholars all over Metro Manila and nearby provinces and establish

    the umbrella organization of DOST Scholars;

    4. To serve as a bridge between the best students and the best companies to ignite the

    best partnerships and workmanship for the advancement of the country.

    Date: March 3, 2012 9:00 AM 4:00 PM

    Tentative Venue: College of Science Auditorium, University of the Philippines,

    Diliman

    Target Participants: All DOST Scholars (preferably graduating) all over Metro Manila

    Theme: The X Factor: eXpress Yourself. eXplore Opportunities. eXceed

    Your Limits.

    General Program:

    The DOST Scholars Summit will be comprised of four (4) parts:

    1. Empowerment/Inspirational Talk. The organization will be inviting at most two(2) distinguished alumni that were once undergraduate DOST Scholars to give a talk

    on their success stories as professionals in their field.

    2. Workshops. The workshops portion of the Summit will be comprised of five (5)topics, namely: [a]self-branding, [b]resume writing, [c]interview tips, [d]power

    dressing, [e]Technopreneurship. Each topic will be limited to 20-30 minutes only.There will be a 5-minute open forum after every topic.

    3. Company Talk/Company Advertisement. At most four companies will begiven the opportunity to give a 15 to 20-minute talk about their company and

    advertise their respective company to its potential employees. Each sponsoring

    company will also have the opportunity to have a booth at the event venue where the

    participants have the opportunity to sign up, ask questions, and get to know more
