1. Health District Meeting Refreshments

Motion by Mr. Karant, seconded by Dr. DePompei, to amend Resolution No. 022-16authorizing Summit County Combined General Health District to expend funds as theHealth Commissioner deems appropriate for the provision of reasonable food andrefreshments at business meetings of the Health District not to exceed $25.00 per personeffective March 8, 2018 (See Enclosure).


2. Joel Helms Case — Case ofJoel Helms vs. Summit County Combined General Health District CV-2016-12-5209 was dismissed. This was in response to the Board ofHealth action denying his license. Weexpect he will continue to appeaL

3. Volunteer Guardianship Program -- Ms. Skoda reported this program is struggling and will behoused at the Health District for one year.

4. Committee Appointments — Review list, designate preference(s) and return form to BrendaPickle. Each committee should have no more than seven members. The President is a member ofall committees by virtue ofoffice (See Enclosure).

5. 98th District Advisory Council Meeting - Monday, March 12, 2018 at 12:00 noon (SummitAuditorium). Lunch served at 12:00 noon.

6. The Nursing & Medical Advisory Committee will meet immediately after the March 8, 2018Board Meeting.

H. Administration/Fiscal Report

1. 2019 Budget — The Budget Commission has scheduled the 2019 Health District Budget Hearingfor Thursday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. on the Third Floor of the Ohio Building in Room 300. Boardmembers are invited to attend.

Motion by Ms. Clark, seconded by Mr. Karant to support the 2019 General Revenue Budget(See Enclosures.)


I. Community Health Report — HIV Capacity Building Initiative. Ms. Barrett provided an overview of theintervention strategies: provide evidence-based prevention program, Say It Straight, to at least 200youth andyoung adults annually in priority populations. Increase the number ofyouth andyoungadults in the target populations who know their HIV and HCV status and evidence-based environmentalcampaigns targeting priority populations with substance misuse, and STI prevention messaging.SAMHSA funded projectfor $1.2 million over 5years aimed at 13-24 year olds prioritizing racial andethnic minorities in Summit and Portage countiesfor prevention ofsubstance misuse, HIV and viralHepatitis.

5. Approve the resignation of Loren Carpenter, Informatics Coordinator, effectiveMarch 2, 2018 (Loren started with SCPH on October 19, 2015. Loren has workedprimarily in the Population Health division. She is relocating to South Carolina).

6. Approve the resignation of Samantha Mellott, Air Quality Engineer, effectiveMarch 30, 2018 (Samantha started with SCPH on April 22, 2013 as an intern in AirQuality. Samantha worked on the PM2.5 monitoring network and other associated airquality duties. Samantha is relocating to North Carolina).
