FARM TO FORK…A SHOWCASE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

When you open a menu at a Sun Peaks

Resort restaurant, you are more than likely

to find mention of the ranch down the road

where the meat for your burger came from,

or the farm in Kamloops that grew the lettuce

for your salad. The Farm to Fork concept not

only has the restaurants showcasing various

fresh and local BC products, but also helps

educate resort guests about sustainable

every chairlift at Sun Peaks Resort.

After a morning on the slopes, grab the kids

and get set for a non-ski adventure like no

other! Thrill seekers opt for snowmobile

tours, as guides lead groups through open

meadows and across frozen lakes. Families

enjoy peaceful sleigh rides through the

village and along the snow-covered golf

course. Other groups join a Snowshoe

Marshmallow Roast or head to the Skating

Rink for Family Fun Night! The options are

endless! Mush a dogsled team, ice skate

under the stars, fly through the air on the

bungee trampoline or whiz down the tube

park. Activities are a safe, easy walking

distance from a variety of accommodations.

The Sun Peaks village is the perfect setting

as a ‘base camp’ for your families outdoor

eating and the benefits of supporting

local producers.

The culinary team at the Delta Sun Peaks

Resort hotel has been extremely proactive

with developing relationships with area

farmers, to the point that two of their organic

farmers (Watersmeet and Thistle Farms)

have now started a winter greenhouse

growing operation to supply the Delta

restaurants with herbs, lettuce etc. Globe

Café & Tapas Bar, a new restaurant in the

village, became certified by the Vancouver

Aquarium Oceanwise program last October

in an effort to use exclusively sustainable

fish varieties. Their BC Chowder with Ling

Cod and Scallops fits right in line with the

principles of the program, using

BC Spot Prawns.

And don’t forget to check out the wine

menus. Beyond fresh fruits, vegetables, and

meats, BC also produces some of the best

wine in the world and Sun Peaks restaurants

and the Sundance Liquor Store are eager to

showcase varietals from our own backyard.

adventures. A hub of winter energy, the

snow-covered village allows people to ski

through to the chairlifts, while other guests

mingle with their morning coffee before

renting a pair of snowshoes to explore the

valley trails. Covered walkways make it

easy to saunter through boutique shops

and restaurants (many with kid-specific

menus!) located at the base of village

accommodation. And with your car parked

discreetly underground, the ski-through/

pedestrian village flows seamlessly into the

surrounding mountains to add to your alpine

experience.
