The 2019 Altar Flower Chart is located on the bulletin
board by the elevator in the Koinonia Room. If a particular
date is special for you or your family, please consider
signing your name on an open date to provide altar flowers
on that day. If you have no special date in mind, you can
still provide flowers simply for the beautification of the
sanctuary. You may also contact Martha Rakestraw at
262-6056 if you would like to participate in this ministry.
Your flower donations
are TRULY appreciated!
With Reverend Nancy Boswell Senior Pastor
Rev. Nancy Boswell grew up in Englewood, CO, and worked in
the Denver area as a registered nurse (specializing in Cardiac
Care) before being called to the ministry. During seminary she
was an intern at Torrington UMC and also served two years as
a student pastor at Englewood UMC. After graduating from the
Iliff School of Theology, she began serving Price United
Methodist Church in Price, Utah on July 1, 2000. Rev. Boswell
was appointed to Christ United Methodist Church on
August 1, 2007 and served for 12 years.
Rev. Boswell enjoys drawing and water color painting, reading,
cooking, and movies. Nancy's sister and family live in Denver,
with another sister and family living in Texas.
"I have been blessed with many experiences and relationships
that have challenged me and deepened my faith. Ministry is the
hardest work I have ever done-and the best!"
If there is no name next to the date, those days are still available for the gift of altar flowers this month: June 2 June 9 June 16 June 23 Dave & Brenda Doyle
There is a chart in the Sonrise Room kitchen for our congregation to sign up to serve one another after, and between, services. You only need to set out the cookies that are provided or bake and bring your own, and make the punch. (The juices are provided) James will make the coffee for us but you have to remember to turn the coffee pot off!!! There is also a little clean up needed: wiping the counters and washing the serving plates. Please consider signing up for one Sunday during the month. This ministry is a blessing for all of us.
Please keep in your prayers:
The United Methodist Church and our new Senior Pastor.
With Reverend Mary Schmidt Associate Pastor
This past year has been full of change and transitions,
none of which were always easy. As I reflected on these changes, I
found God’s word a comfort to me. “Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the
LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:3-4
I do not know many people who are comfortable with change. It
seems a lot of folks find security in regular routine and don’t like surprises.
To a great extent, these traits are necessary for a smooth and orderly sail
through life.
Unfortunately, the only thing guaranteed in life is CHANGE! But that
doesn’t make dealing with unwanted or difficult changes or new
seasons of life any less trying.
That is why I find encouragement in David’s words from Psalm 37. When
we dwell on God’s faithfulness and let it feed our hearts, our faith and
trust in Him grows. When we focus on doing good things, our thoughts
won’t stay parked on the changes we don’t like. Instead of allowing our
minds to wish things were like they used to be or feel discouraged or
upset over these changes, we can place our trust in Him and live with
peace and joy, and not stress or fear.
Change is inevitable. God brings change into our lives when he thinks
we need it, in His time. Whether we want it or not. We can fight change
or we can trust God has a plan and purpose for it and allow our trust in
God’s faithfulness to be the foundation for Joyful living.
As his followers, let us put aside our fears and accept change and pray
we can continue to follow Him with all our hearts.
Peace and Grace,
Mary

Stephen Ministers can provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as: ---Job loss ---Aging
—Hospitalization --- Divorce or separation
---Loss of a loved one ---Recovery after an accident or disaster
--Serious illness ---Spiritual crisis
---Loneliness or discouragement
Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry and our ministers have participated in 50 hours of training. Our new class of Stephen Ministers will be commissioned in March and will be available to work with our church family. If you could benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister or know someone who could, please contact Dr. Patricia Bell, Kelly Schweda or Pastor Mary
Schmidt for more information.
The Trustees started the initial phase of the 2019 ‘Legacy’ Financial Campaign with a Power Point presentation between the Sunday, April 28th Services. The campaign will run through October as the Trustees continue to provide information and answer questions concerning the designated projects. Check out the displays in the Sonrise Room and Koinonia room! Note that donations can be made at any time, just designate that the funds are for the 2019 Legacy Campaign.
SUMMER! Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
This verse reminds me of my early summer mornings in California when I was a little girl playing on the flagstone patio my dad built in our backyard. I always had an on going conversation with God. I spoke to Him about everything I saw and thought about; the grass, the trees and flowers and of course the fuzzy black caterpillars I love to give a home in old Folger’s coffee cans. Each morning as we rise let’s meditate on the wonders of God’s amazing love for us and the path that He has laid for our lives.
As we enjoy our beautiful Wyoming Summer our music ministry will continue in full force. Grace Singers will continue to lead worship at the 8:30 service. Rehearsals are Wednesday night’s from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Jubilee Chorale will continue to rehearse Wednesday nights from 7:15 to 8:00pm. Jubilee Chorale sings weekly at the 11:00am service.
Faith Ignited (Youth Choir) We will meet as often as youth are available this summer, Wednesday night from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Contact me at 307-277-4867 to be added to our Faith Ignited choir contacts for rehearsal and singing schedules.
Christ Singers (Children’s Choir) Is taking a summer break and will resume at the end of August.
Blessings, Diane

Do You have a Name Tag?
Do you know where your name tag is? Is it in your car? Is it on your winter coat? Is it on the board in the Koinonia Room? If your name tag is missing in action, now is the time to contact Linda Gehres, our Office Administer. We want to start wearing our name tags in July when our
new pastor, Rev. Nancy Boswell arrives. It will help her so much to see your name and face together. Also, it might be a reminder of those persons you see every week and you forget their names.
HOSPITAL VISITATION: CAN YOU HELP? Because of conflicts in schedules and family commitments, our volunteers who visit the hospital weekly have diminished. Irma Bideau is our only regular visitor and she goes every Monday morning.
The clergy are most appreciative and value the time saved by these visits by our laity. They are able to give us important notification when a member is in the hospital.
Are you looking to get more involved in the ministry of the church? Then perhaps, hospital visitation would fit your schedule. Training will be given. We need someone to put in about 1-2 hours a week visiting our members who are patients at Wyoming Medical Center. If you would like more information, please give Pastor Mary a call
and she will be glad to visit with you.

Newsletter for the District
June 2019
Greetings from the Wyoming CRM!
I have been in this position nearly six months and it has been an honor to meet many of
you from visits, phone calls and webinars.
We offered 2 webinars recently: Single Board Governance and Staff/Pastor Parish
Relations Committee training. Thank you to those who participated. Sometime this
summer we should have video resources available for those who were unable to attend.
We will let you know when these are ready.
One of my favorite passages in scripture is Isaiah 40. The first verses are sung in
Handel’s Messiah. “O Comfort ye, my people! says your God.” It’s a passage of hope for
people who have been living in exile, in a foreign land, and who have been wondering if
God has abandoned them. The final verses in the chapter are just as familiar, as
paraphrased in “On Eagles Wings.”
Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with
wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
(Isaiah 40:30-31 NRSV)
We are in uncertain times. Whether because of the decisions made by General Conference
and upheld by the Judicial Council. Or we look around and wonder where everyone is.
Perhaps we are concerned that our church will still be making disciples of Jesus Christ for
the transformation of the world in the next several years.
We don’t know what the future will hold.
But we know Who holds our future.
“Comfort ye, my people! says your God.”
“But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with
wings like eagles.”
The future is never certain or predicted. Instead, we walk by faith. We wait. We pray.
We hope. And we trust that God is still at work in us, in our churches, and in our
communities. May we discern the Spirit’s work and join in. That’s something to
celebrate!
May God be with us, and may our Wyoming (and Walden, Colorado) summer be filled
with new life.
Rev. Laura Rainwater
Wyoming Congregational Resource Minister
