********************************* Dear Church Friends, This weekend past, Pat and I had a most delightful visit from Marcia Phinney whom I have known since joining First Parish in 1971. Marcia brought us a lovely bouquet of flowers. Thank you Marcia and also all of our church friends. We are most grateful for your compassion: bless you all. Fondly, Sandy and Pat Serrentino
Prayer time is at 10 am in the Chapel.
Please join us.
What is a Family Sunday?
Family Sundays are an important part of our
community. On Family Sundays, FPCC does not
offer Sunday School, but instead gives everyone an
opportunity to worship together at the 10:30 service.
If your children are not yet ready to participate in
the full worship service, they are welcome to join us
upstairs in the classroom for a Community Service
project. These projects will have a central theme of
helping our larger family within the community.
Childcare will still be available for the babies and
preschoolers.
Upcoming Family Sundays:

March 11th
April 15th

Summer Mission Trip to Haiti
The Student Ministry is going on a Mission Trip to Haiti from August 21st to 27th. We will be working with the local church in the
village of Bassin Bleue, located in the mountains just outside of Jacmel...an area
that Pastor Aaron has visited and ministered in many times. We will be ministering to and with the church there, doing Children's
Ministry in connection with the church, and possibly even do a small work project for
either the church or one of the church members. We will also be visiting and ministering at the Les Petits
Anges orphanage in Jacmel.
The cost of this trip is $1,350 a person. Please consider making a donation to support this trip. You can give your donation
to Pastor Aaron (please place in a sealed envelope) or put it in the offering plate. If
you write a check, please make check payable to First Parish Congregational Church and write "Haiti trip" in the memo
line. If you are giving cash through the offering, please place in a sealed envelope
and write "for Haiti trip" on the envelope. Thank you in advance for your support!

••Pastoral Perspective• On Church Growth… -Pastor Bob Leroe
The majestic Sequoia trees of northern California grow together
in groves. They have shallow roots but they intertwine and
connect with the other trees, holding each other up. That’s a
pretty good description of the church. We need each other and
we strive to work together for the increase of God’s Kingdom. The church is more like a family than a
business. The relationship is more important than the production. We are a community of praise
shaped by the Cross. In community we discover our common brokenness and strength.
•Principles of Church Growth…
Churches grow warmer through friendship
Churches grow deeper through training
Churches grow stronger through inspiring worship
Churches grow broader through community outreach
Churches grow larger through faith-sharing
Church growth is the result of church health
Churches grow by the power of God through equipped people
•Responsibilities of Church Members…
Attend worship regularly, faithfully, joyfully—observe the sanctity of Sunday.
Participate—find your place, your niche, and serve in a position—volunteer!
Invite others to church (friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc)
Get to know the congregation; meet the people in the pews
Pray for your church family and ministries
Come to church social/fellowship activities
Support the ministries of the church with generous giving of time, talent, and treasure
Strive to learn and grow spiritually
Guard the good name of the church
