SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
MOTHERS DAY
Beatitudes for Mothers
Blessed are Mothers…who did without for us, they will be rewarded.
Blessed are Mothers…who lost sleep when we were sick, they will find rest. Blessed are Mothers…who comforted us, they will be comforted.
Blessed are Mothers…who taught us right from wrong, they will know justice. Blessed are Mothers…who showed us the Christian life by example, they will live
forever. Blessed are Mothers…who shared with us the meaning of peace,
they shall know peace. Blessed are Mothers…who taught us the importance of loving God and
each other, they shall see God.
A Happy and blessed Mothers’ Day.
May our Blessed Mother Mary always be with you and your loved ones.
God bless, Fr. Herb
The Mass Intentions at all of our Masses this weekend are for our Mothers,
the living and the deceased.
TITHING
April 24-30, 2016 $15,981.21
Same Week Last Year: $16,060.00
From the Pastor: When everyone helps, it makes it a lot
easier for everyone else. Prayer, good work, and sharing what
we have go hand in hand and make the Kingdom of God more
present here.
Words of Tithing from the Pews: I was holding tight to the
money and resisting God’s call to trust Him with 5% to
charity. Now I am trusting God more.
Thank you for your sacrifice of Tithing!
MASS ATTENDANCE
Mass attendance for April 23/24: 1689
ELECTRONIC GIVING WITH FAITH DIRECT
This month we are introducing a new and exciting way for you
to support our parish offertory and special collections: Faith
Direct. Faith Direct enables parishioners to make your Church
contributions through either direct debit from your
checking/savings account or through your credit/debit card.
No more writing checks or searching for envelopes on the way
out the door. Now you can apply the convenience of direct
debit to your parish offerings in much the same way as you
may use it now to make your mortgage, car or tuition
payments (and you may be able to get credit card points).
There will be more information next weekend.
God Bless You!
Fr. Herb

May 2016
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This month, parishes throughout our Diocese are conducting
the annual Peter’s Pence collection in support of the work of
our Holy Father. I ask you to be as generous as possible to this
good and worthy cause.
Through the Peter’s Pence Collection, we stand in solidarity
with Catholics all over the world to support the charitable
works of our Holy Father. Contributions to this collection
support Pope Francis as he reaches out to those suffering the
effects of war and violence, natural disasters, and religious
persecution.
Pope Francis has told us that “mercy is the force that
reawakens us to new life and instills in us the courage to look
to the future with hope” (Misericordiae Vultus, no. 10). Please
prayerfully consider participating in this collection when it is
taken up in your parish.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Arthur J. Serratelli, S.T.D., S.S.L., D.D.
Bishop of Paterson

ALL SAINTS ACADEMY CORNER
ASA – A Model Early Childhood Center
Currently Accepting Enrollments for
September 2016
All Saints Academy hosts an extensive Early
Childhood Center that is considered a model
setting for young children of the Parsippany area. It includes a
PreSchool level for three-year old children, a Pre-
Kindergarten program for four-year old children and a full day
Kindergarten. The faith-filled environment provides young
children with a nurturing setting for a “first school
experience.” The early childhood curriculum is
developmentally driven, capturing the essence of each child
through the integration of spiritual, physical, intellectual and
social-emotional components. The teaching team has
developed a highly enriched language and mathematics
program based on the combination play and pre-academic
skills. All early childhood instruction is also infused with the
tenets of STEM education. Vibrant teaching and genuine
learning occurs through the interweaving of science,
technology, engineering and math in daily classroom lessons.
There are full and half day sessions available in both the Pre-
School and Pre-Kindergarten levels. After School care until
6:00pm is also available for students of the Early Children
Center. Please contact All Saints Academy’s principal, Mrs.
Judy Berg, at 973-334-4704. for information regarding your
child’s entry into this fine program.

CONFIRMATION PRAYER Spirit of God, grant me:
The gift of wisdom
To see the world through your eyes,
The gift of counsel
To make difficult decisions,
The gifts of knowledge and understanding
To use my mind to know you and to love you,
The gift of fortitude
To have the courage to live in the faith
Despite the difficulties and disappointments,
The gift of piety
To be able to express my special love
And commitment to you,
And the right kind of awesome fear
That makes me pause to wonder and revere God’s Love.
Amen.
THE DIOCESE OF PATERSON’S
VIVERE CHRISTUS AWARD 2016
Deacon Lou and Mrs. Carol Chiocco
For more than 30 years, Deacon Lou and his wife, Carol, have
spear headed our parish’s ministry of preparing couples for
Marriage in the Pre Cana Program. For the last few years our
Catholic Church, under the leadership of Pope Francis, has
reflected deeply on the family in today’s Church and today’s
world. The Pope and those who participated in the world wide
consultation, focused strongly on the importance and necessity
of preparing couples well for Christian Marriage in the
Sacrament of Matrimony,
So it is especially timely this year to nominate Deacon Lou &
Carol for Bishop Serratelli to award them the Vivere Christus
Medal as our parish’s 2016 representatives. The Parish
chooses to nominate them to receive this honor from the
Bishop, especially in view of their good work with engaged
couples. By honoring Carol and Deacon Lou, our parish is
also gratefully acknowledging the Pre-Cana Team couples
who have worked with them over many years in this important
Pre Cana Ministry to couples getting married in the Catholic
Church.
In their own family, Deacon Lou and Carol are proud parents
of 5 adult children and they are blessed with many wonderful
grandchildren. Carol and Deacon Lou are very loving parents
and grandparents. Deacon Lou and Carol are regular daily
Mass goers here. As a permanent Deacon, Deacon Lou is a
parish staff member and he participates in the parish’s
Liturgical Ministries, blessing us with his excellent homilies
every month.
Deacon Lou and Carol will receive their Vivere Christus
Award next Sunday afternoon, May 15th
, from Bishop
Serratelli at Saint Philip’s Church in Clifton. Congratulations
Carol and Deacon Lou Chiocco! We thank God for both of
you and all the good you do for so many people.
