LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK
The immensity, scope, intimacy, and pervasiveness of God’s presence is too intense for the human mind. We often limit God by our expectations of Him and have a hard time just letting God be God. Some people all too easily lose faith because God does not meet their expectations. Worse still, the idea of faith is rejected altogether by others because of polarities and experiences they have that don’t square with who they need God to be. The Holy Trinity is one of those teach-ings that is best encountered rather than dissected. It is only through being present with the Trini-ty that we can experience both the immensity and otherness of God’s presence as well as the intimacy of the God who wants us to call Him “dad.” We feel the loving guidance of a God who wants to take us from fear and give us confidence. Our God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow is a God of all ages whose three-fold Presence invades all senses, seasons, and times. God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is much more than any of our expectations if we simply let God be who God is. ©LPi
“The perfect Missionary of the Holy Spirit…is very devoted to the Most Holy Trinity and to each one of the Divine Persons.”
– Fr. Felix de Jesus Rougier MSpS Founder of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit
Dear Brothers and Sisters of St. Vincent de Paul,
This weekend May 29th at 11:00 AM, Brothers
Jorge Haro and Rudy Martinez were ordained as
transitional deacons by Archbishop Gustavo Gar-
cia-Siller, MSpS. We are grateful for this moment
of God’s fidelity in their life and the call to serve
as Missionaries of the Holy Spirit deacons.
As transitional deacons, Jorge and Rudy will
“share in Christ’s mission and grace in a special
way. The Sacrament of Holy Orders marks them
with an imprint (‘character’) which cannot be
removed, and which configures them to Christ.
Who made himself the “Deacon” or servant of
all. Among other tasks, it is the task of deacons
to assist the bishop and priests in the celebration
of the divine mysteries, above all the Eucharist,
in the distribution of Holy Communion, in as-
sisting at and blessing marriages, int eh procla-
mation of the Gospel and preaching, in presiding
over funerals, and in dedicating themselves to the various ministries of charity.” (CCC, 1570).
On Behalf our parish we want to congratulate Jorge and Rudy for their vocation and service
to our parish and the collaborative ministry they have shown by sharing charism and mission
in building up the priestly people of God, holiness, and solidarity. May the Lord continue to
bless your faith journey as you serve the Church as deacons and as priests soon.
Br. Rudy has been assigned to serve at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Oxnard,
CA., a parish community staffed by the MSpS. Br. Jorge will continue his fourth year of stud-
ies at Oblate School of Theology while ministering as deacon for the 2021-2022 year. We
wish you well in your new assignments and pray the Lord grant you graces of joy in your re-
sponse to God’s call.
Blessings,
Fr. Hugo, MSpS – Pastor

Bendiciones,
P. Hugo, MSpS – Párroco
