LEGO at the LibraryCalling all Lego lovers! Come to the library to design and build a Lego creation. Share your building tips and tricks with others. Ages 6 to 12.

Music Makers: Sing Yourself Silly!All families of 4 to 5 year-olds are invited to this class! Children and parents will participate in action songs, dancing and be introduced to basic musical concepts such as: beat, rhythm, pitch, tempo and dynamics. Engaging songs and stories are combined with the use of rhythm instruments to develop important classroom skills such as at-tentive listening, turn-taking and responding to direction. Ages 4 to 5.

Reading BuddiesDo you love to read? Do you want to have fun, make new friends and practice your reading skills? Reading Buddies is a program that matches teen mentors with kids in Grades 2–4. Through interactive games and activities, buddies share their enthusiasm for reading. If your child is in Grades 2–4, please register for a spot in the program or contact your local branch for more information. If you’re a teen who would like to volunteer, visit www.epl.ca/volun-teer for more information.

Reading Circle (Frontier College)A reading circle is a place where children and volunteers read together for enjoyment. One volunteer and one child form a team to read, write, play games and tell stories that help build literacy skills. Sing, Sign, Laugh and LearnYou and your child from birth to age three are invited to join us for sing-ing, rhyming and signing! In this inclusive class, offered in collaboration with the Edmonton Early Intervention Program, parents/caregivers will interact one-on-one with their child while learning strategies to engage their child and enhance their child’s communication and development through repetition, visuals and movement. Siblings are welcome.

Interested in attending with a group of children? Please contact the branch about early literacy classes more suited to groups. Ages birth to 3.
