Simplicity

Harder than I think to keep in mind

Wants versus needs.

I have gotten myself on the list of

Every catalog in the world it seems.

They arrive in my mailbox and

I peruse them. Between the catalogs

And every Catholic organization asking

For money, my paper trash becomes

very large.

The good news is that this trash can be

Recycled along with the aluminum cans

To help others. I find that my closet and

Pantry contains all I need to help others

Also, they hold all things for my

Physical needs.

The need for simplicity in prayer

Is one that I find the need to silence

my inner self and let God do the talking.

Harder than I think to keep in mind

Wants versus needs.

RESPECT FOR LIFE STORM HEAVEN “Only with prayer—prayer that storms the heavens for justice and mercy, prayer that cleanses our hearts and souls— will the culture of death that

surrounds us today be replaced with a culture of life.” (From the U.S. Catholic Bishops, “Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activi-ties.”) Please pray for all people: May the Lord motivate and inspire our actions; that we might contribute to building up a culture that cherishes each person’s life. th Street.

“EVERY LIFE IS WORTH LIVING,” This is the theme for the 2015-2016 Respect Life Program. It is meant to remind us of this basic truth of our existence. It was chosen especial-ly in light of the growing push towards promoting and legaliz-ing assisted suicide, but within the comprehensive under-standing of the human person which affirms this statement as a truth which applies to each and every person, from concep-tion to death, at every stage and in every circumstance.

Father Danny is excited to be going to NCYC this fall and he wants St. Christopher to have a large group. Tom and Father Danny have settled on a beard shaving bet. If our group has 50 teens from St. Christopher, then those teens will get to choose what shape Father Danny shaves his

beard into. You can check out the choices from the pictures below or make a suggestion!

He promises to not only do it but make sure that everyone in the parish gets to see it by wearing it through a Sunday before he shaves it clean. Father Danny hasn’t shaved his beard in almost 5 years

and he is quite fond of it.

Get signed up today so we can win the bet!!

To sign up for NCYC go to www.saintchristopherparish.org and print off the sign ups from the youth ministry page, or find the form in the bulletin racks in the back of church. Fill them out and

turn them into the office with a $25 deposit. ** ALL SIGN UP FORMS NEED TO BE TURNED IN TO
