Today I learned about ... “Adam & Eve.” God had made the sun and the moon, water, the plants, trees, and fruit, and the animals. But he had no one to love and talk to, so he made a personsomeone He could love and talk to on the sixth day. He scooped up some dirt and shaped it into a man. God blew breath into the man’s body. That’s how Adam became alive. God made a beautiful garden for Adam to live in. God let Adam name all of the animals. Adam saw that all the animals had partners except for him. So, God made Adam a partner. He put Adam to sleep, and God took a rib from Adam’s side, and made woman. He named the woman Eve. Now Adam had someone to love. God told Adam and Eve they could eat anything in the garden except not to eat the fruit from the tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden. But, one day a snake told Eve she could eat the fruit, so Eve and Adam both ate the forbidden fruit. When God came to talk to them, they were hiding. God knew that they had disobeyed. So God punished them. He said, “The snake will crawl on the ground from now on. And, Eve will have pain when she has children, and Adam will have to work every day to get food and clothing for his family.” Adam and Eve had to leave the beautiful garden God had given them . They were sorry that they had disobeyed God.
