Is the functionment of a moving panel gives more energy than a unmoved panel ?
• We wanted to know if it was possible to get a better performance with a moving panel, compared to a unmoved panel; basing us on the device’s consummation.
• We divided us into three parts:– gnomon– Reckoning of the different powers– Prototypes’ creation
![Page 4: Sunfollower Eng](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022051515/55851382d8b42aff298b4c70/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
SUN’S PATH : THE GNOMON
• For our project, knowing sun’s path is essential.
• It’s a simpler sundial.
• This acquisition system is low and tedious. To make it easier, more precise and attractive, we used a webcam.

Height’s reckoning
• The angle h is the angle made by sun’s rays and the horizon represented by the red line.
• Then, each point refers to a sun’s height.

Cleaning the video.
We save one image in minute.
The end of the gnomon’s shadow is clocked in by Cinéris.

Determination of solar midday
• Determining at different hours of the year solar midday
• For example, February11th, 2008 we can trace shadow’s length “en fonction du temps” (?)

Checking by mathematics
• Power received on a panel is more important when the panel is perpendicular with sun’s rays.
• We made for three important days the energies’ ratio between the unmoved panel sloped to 45 degrees and the moving panel:
– A winter’s solstice: 0,79 (1.63/2.06)
– At equinoxes: 0,69 (3,80/5,44)
– At summer’s solstice: de 0,40 (3,55/8,80)

Data acquisition system for prototypes
• Labview 8.20 and NIdaq6009 card.
• Data acquisition cardallowed us to read voltage during a long moment like one or two days.

An engine to make sure of moving solar panels
• A simple motor to build up and un moteur simple à mettre en oeuvre et peu cher mais suffisamment puissant pour entraîner l’ensemble en rotation : les programmateurs d’alimentation mécanique
![Page 16: Sunfollower Eng](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022051515/55851382d8b42aff298b4c70/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)

![Page 20: Sunfollower Eng](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022051515/55851382d8b42aff298b4c70/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)

Conclusion
![Page 24: Sunfollower Eng](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022051515/55851382d8b42aff298b4c70/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
![Page 25: Sunfollower Eng](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022051515/55851382d8b42aff298b4c70/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
